Description

Marine Band Crossover With the Crossover we have expanded the Marine Band series to introduce a new, top-of-the-line professional quality instrument for the discerning player in modern blues, rock, jazz, soul or funk. The revolutionary laminated bamboo comb (patented) is completely sealed, making it water repellent and exceptionally stable. In combination with the screw together assembly the Crossover is extremely airtight, with fast, even response and a raspy, powerful sound which is exceptionally well suited to amplified playing as well as acoustic styles. The modern compromise tuning is ideal for single note playing in different positions in a wide range of contemporary styles, while still retaining a full chord sound, making the Crossover an optimal addition to the great Marine Band range.

  • what a difference from my cheap harmonicas
Color: natural
I was skeptical how much nicer this would be than the whole harmonica set I purchase for as much as this one costs. Well now I need this in every key. I can blow anywhere on the harp without screeching or clam notes. Everything I play in this sounds much more pleasant.

  • Best so far

I've have several crossovers, these are the best I've ever played. The playability is amazing.

  • Good tone
Color: natural
Has good sound quality and reeds have average bendability. I started playing harmonica in 1973 when I was 20. Back then a new Blues Harp or Marine Band harp cost $12, a new car could be had for under $4k, and the average house cost less than $40k. My, my, how times have changed.

  • The very best from Hohner.

The best harmonica that I have ever used. I have 3 in different keys.

  • Best out-of-the-box harp I own
Color: natural
Best OOTB harp I own, compared to Special 20's, Lee Oskars, Suzuki Promaster, Blues Harp, and standard Marine Bands. Bends easily and consistently, requires less breath, and just plain sounds better. Worth the extra 30 or so bucks for a one-off purchase, though I couldn't afford to outfit myself with a full spectrum of keys/tunings at this price (except maybe spaced out over a few years). But if you're looking for your first harp, make it easy on yourself and ante up for a quality harp that you'll enjoy playing on more - you'll spend more time with a good harp, and thus learn faster. ... show more
