I can’t get over how cute this book tree is! I’ve been trying to find fun and inventive ways to display all of my books around my home, and this stand fit perfectly in my living room aesthetic! The color of the book tree is gorgeous, I got Rustic Brown. It’s very easy to put together, but I did have to take it apart twice because the first couple of pieces I put in, the instructions didn’t easily explain which way the tiers were supposed to be put on. BE CAREFUL when you do this! Otherwise, the book tree is very solid and sturdy, enough that in the picture attached we did NOT screw it to the wall. Definitely a nice starter book shelf. I was tired of having my stacks of books everywhere and no where to put them. I live in a smaller apartment and don't really have the space for a large book shelf - so this is perfect. This shelf can be a little tricky to initially assemble, not difficult, just a bit tricky. Take your time and use some logic and you’ll get it, no problem. It’s a beautiful shelf and a unique design. It’s sturdy and stands well either full of books or not. I get a lot of compliments on it.

    • Regular screws would be fantastic

So, I'm sure there's a reason these kind of things always come with fasteners that require an allen key, instead of regular screws. I would imagine it's because they can just put an allen key in the box so anyone without a drill or screw driver can still put it together. But my goodness would I love if some of these things had regular screws. That being said, I have a drill with an attachment that fits allen keys, which I thought was a great way to save time and make this easier. Well, that turned out to be a stupid idea. Just don't do it, you will strip it, even with the torque low. Which creates a situation that's super fun to resolve. Outside of my glaring mistake that is 100% on me, assembly wasnt too bad. You need to pay close attention to which way the holes are counter sunk, and I had 1 hole that was pre drilled slightly off. Easy to fix if you have a drill available to you. Otherwise the best thing you can do is not fully tighten anything until the pieces are in place. Outside of my self-created difficulties it was much the same to put together as other pieces of furniture I've ordered online. Not too sturdy on its own, but with heavy books on the bottom and the top anchored to the wall it's stable. Looks really nice once it's together, and holds a good amount of books. ... show more
