I don't write a lot of reviews but I like this product's assembly. I ordered back in May and finally took time to assemble. ADHD might come to mind. Instructions are pictures. You need an electric drill. It does come with a tool, but there are around 40 long screws, to say my wrist hurts is an understatement. It did not come with a phillips screwdriver and you need one for a half dozen phillips screws. The sturdiness is good, but the height is shorter than I thought. It would be really cute for a kid shelf. The shelf comes with wall screw to teether so kids don't pull it on to themselves. Overall only took about an hour of actual assembling, I may have put a few pieces backwards and had to redo. And if I knew where a drill was probably could have cut the time in half. And for being months in a box, the letter stickers came off fairly well although a little more effort went into removing the product label sticker. Overall even with the few blips still a nice shelf for my cookbooks. ... show more

Just what I wanted, but giving a 4 rating due to the assembly. The paper instructions don’t show the small hike on the one side that have be lined up to out the back on. This took 2 hours to put together and it is backwards. Still works and not taking apart!

Disliked 3 things: 1. Assembly layout for instructions 1-7 difficult to follow since there are multiple parts K and J, which should all be identical but were not which leads to Item 2. 2. One part J had the countersunk holes on the wrong side. It could not be flipped because of the mounting hole on the long edge had to be in a specific location in order to attach the back. I had to mount it so the screws were exposed. 3. One part B did not have any holes drilled on one of the long edges which meant it could not be attached to part D since the countersunk hole had to be in a specific orientation. Fortunately, I have a drill press and was able to fix it. I have no idea what the big hole in part C is for since there are no lights on the unit and the hole is too low to match up with the electrical plug on the wall. What I liked is that they provided the Allen tool for the screws and a couple of extra screws. I found that it was easier to stick all the screws through one part and then line up the holes on the attaching part instead of mating the parts and trying to insert the screw. This is because some of the holes are 1-2 millimeters off and you have to alternate tightening the screws to pull everything together. ... show more

I can’t get over how cute this book tree is! I’ve been trying to find fun and inventive ways to display all of my books around my home, and this stand fit perfectly in my living room aesthetic! The color of the book tree is gorgeous, I got Rustic Brown. It’s very easy to put together, but I did have to take it apart twice because the first couple of pieces I put in, the instructions didn’t easily explain which way the tiers were supposed to be put on. BE CAREFUL when you do this! Otherwise, the book tree is very solid and sturdy, enough that in the picture attached we did NOT screw it to the wall. I love this bookshelf tree. It takes up little floor space and holds a lot. We did not use the wall-mount. My daughter is 16 and is in no danger of tipping or climbing it. It is very sturdy. The instructions were a little difficult to understand. I would screw in the screws to only have to back them out again, due to the unclear assembly. The bookshelf as a whole is a steal for the price, when it comes to Amazon purchases, you really do get what you pay for. Assembly wasn't very difficult, however, the instructions that come with the package can become very confusing. I did have to un-assemble some of the pieces a few times because of them needed to be moved or turned around. Besides the confusing instructions (that also very well could have been operator error) It is a great bookshelf, very sturdy, holds a fair number of books (not adequate for readers looking for large amounts of storage on one shelf).
