These drapes are a great buy. The material is very nice, true to size and easy to hang. They are blackout curtains and not shear at all. They are thermal as well with curtains being white on the back which means they look very good from outside. I would buy these again.

FIRST, let me add the CON. MANY items have the chemical dehp. Many shower curtains, all kinds of things, so not that surprising the back liner that is what really makes these blackout has it. I would look it up before you buy, just so you're aware of what this chemical is, if you aren't already. WITH THAT SAID: This is about the GREY 52 X 54 curtains. I can't speak to any of the others. I added a TIP at the end for those who REALLY want to block out light from sides or top. My Experience: After MULTIPLE buys and returns of curtains that were NOT blackout curtains and/or were UNEVEN, I tried these. HEAVY AND LINED! - Granted, I did get a darker color, grey, but they are LINED in the back and there aren't any pinpoints of light coming through all over! COLOR - I have white walls, with black, grey and amethyst as my colors in my bedroom. These look more expensive than they were. PRICE - which brings me to PRICE! THESE were the LEAST expensive of all the ones I tried! I don't know if they were on sale, but they cost me $20 plus tax and then I get free Prime ship. CURTAIN ROD - I don't have a SUPER sturdy curtain rod, so was a little nervous because these ARE heavy, but for the 54 inch length, the rod was fine. If you have LONG curtains, you will want to make sure you have a STURDY rod. TIP: OK, my dog wakes up when he starts to see any light. NO MATTER IF you have blackout curtains, IF they don't lay perfectly even with wall, you will have light coming from the edges. I took some two way tape and put on the outside edge of where the curtain and wall touch. I also have an INNER curtain on the INSIDE of the windowsill with a draft stopper along it so light can't come out the bottom. There is a touch of light that comes up from the top, so you either have to hang your curtain HIGH or get a valance to hang over the top. BOTTOMLINE: SO GLAD I got these. These have been the best re not just DARKENING, but BLACKOUT.

These are pretty good, especially for the cost. Pros: They effectively blacked out the light from our west facing windows. They also are heavy and reduced noise. The room is a little quieter now. They warmed up the room. We have west winds that cool that side of the house and its windows, and we immediately noticed a significant difference the first night. The color is true to what was shown online and the curtains match. The seams are sewn evenly everywhere. Cons: They are cut crookedly (slightly wavy) down all four vertical sides, but the tops and bottoms look even. It looks like the cloth just wasn't cut straight and the tailor followed along the cut lines. They come very wrinkled but a steam iron fixed that. These are $30 and they're from China. If you want curtains that look like they should cost $150, these aren't those. But they are doing exactly what they were advertised to do.

I recently switched bedrooms in my house and the window was much larger than my old room so I had to say goodbye to my previous blackout curtains. My window faces the east side of the house so it gets hit with the harsh sunrise every morning and as someone who likes to sleep until 11am, this is not ideal. My bed also sits directly against my window so thermal curtains were a must for me in this July heat. I bought 2 sets of curtains previous to these that claimed to be "blackout" and "thermal". Lies. cheap and attracted so much heat. But THESE, these are awesome. I held my phone flashlight up to them and nothing shined through. They also have the plastic backing which I've noticed a drastic difference in heat control. My room isn't completely blackout but that's because I don't have blinds whatsoever so light shines through above the curtains. But for $45 and considering I don't have blinds, not a bad purchase at all.

I really felt I was taking a chance buying curtains sight unseen, but these exceeded my expectations! They are made from a soft fabric that has a microfiber feel to them, and are heavy. The white lining has an insulating coating on it, which makes them just what I was looking for, to stop drafts coming through around the windows. I purchased them in ivory for a bedroom, and they do a good job as a blackout curtain, blocking too much light coming through. I also liked having the option of rod pocket or back tab when I hung them. I would purchase again.
