  • Game changer with Aries 5058 brush guard
The media could not be loaded. We live in a rural area predominantly with non-existent lighting on roads. I had bought a brush guard for my 2017 Ram 1500 and was disappointed that it impacted both my low and high beam lights. That had never been a thought for me but my headlights were constrained by the cage around them. I was starting to wish I hadn't bought the brush guard until the thought to add a light bar came to me. There are 32" between the vertical bars on the Aries 5058 and I decided to select Nilight's 25" model over their 20" model to maximize size while avoiding the floodlights on the sides from hitting those vertical bars like what was happening with my headlights. The brush guard already had pre-drilled holes 25" apart but that was too wide so I drilled two 5/16" holes 18" apart. This provided ample stability for the Nilight and I elected not to use the center support. Installation was pretty easy. I will say before ordering a wire harness, make sure you know where you'll be putting the on/off switch and ensure there is space. I elected the 1-lead, stick-on model based on where I wanted to put it. As far as lighting, it's a total game changer. I can now see into bar ditches and farther out into the road to help avoid nighttime wildlife. Just be sure to turn them off if someone is coming the other way because they will definitely blind them! ... show more

  • Bright and well built
I tested this Nilight - 60007C-A 25" 162W Led Light Bar along with 6 other light bars and it was the brightest of them all. My thoughts: Very bright Well built / heavier then the rest by far. The advertised wattage of led light bars are vastly over rated. At first I thought maybe the wattage listed was the wattage at the high end of its voltage rating (30VDC) so I tested 7 led light bars on an adjustable voltage power supply and recorded the current (amperage) and power (wattage) at 1 volt increments from 10VDC to 25VDC. I found that over 12-14VDC the wattage of the light actually decreases. This indicates that while you can provide up to 30VDC to these lights they do not get any brighter. I will list the peak wattage and at what voltage they peaked out at. *(advertised wattage) Nilight 25" (162 watt) ~ 113 Watts @ 14VDC ~ (32% under advertised) Agedo 42" (576 watt) ~ 94 watts @ 13 VDC ~ (84% under advertised) Rigidhorse 22" (180 w) ~ 76 Watts @ 13VDC ~ (58% under advertised) Agedo 22" (306 watt) ~ 54 Watts @ 13 VDC ~ (82% under advertised) Zmoon 12" (264 watt) ~ 43 Watts @ 13 VDC ~ (84% under advertised) Skyworld 25" (120 w.) ~ 24 Watts @ 13 VDC ~ (80% under advertised) Agedo 4"pod (18 watt)~ 14 Watts @ 13 VDC ~ (22% under advertised) As you can see the advertised wattages are grossly over advertised and can't be used to determine how bright any of these lights will be. While wattage is a very good indicator of brightness, there are other characteristics at play so it isn't everything. While the Nilight was a good bit over the Rigidhorse, I was very impressed with the color and distance of the Rigidhorse. If they were the same cost I would go with the Rigidhorse ($50) even though it was only 76 watts to Nilights ($36) 113 watts. They are not the same cost thought so at $36 it's hard to beat the Nilight for this price range. If you are looking for a light that will reach out farther with a good spot beam, the best of the ones I tested would be the rigidhorse. It was also the most expense of the lights I tested so I'm sure as you continue up the price range they will all continue to get better. I was not prompted to write this review by anyone. I picked these low cost lights for a few off road vehicles I need to add lights on and figured I'd use them as a good way to test out the available options. ... show more

  • The best Spot/Flood light bar I have ever owned.
Simple to install/mount on my Vehicle. I have a push bar that has flat runners across the front of it with pre-drilled holes for mounting Fog/off road lights and this 25 inch bar fit the location perfectly. Of course I measured it for fit before I bought it. I went with this one since the mounting brackets were adjustable and the water proofing. I have had lights in the past with minimal water proofing and have had my entire lighting go out while on the road. Nothing scarier than driving in a downpour and having your lights go out leaving you in the dark. WHICH brings me to part 2: use a switch driven relay to wire your lights! (Lesson learned) I purchased (Nilight LED Light Bar Wiring Harness Kit 12V 5Pin Rocker Switch Laser On off Waterproof Switch Power Relay Blade Fuse-2 Lead,2 Years Warranty) just for this reason. Connecting a light with this much power and it can/will wreak havoc with your electronics under the best of circumstances. The relay isolates the power drain of the light bar preventing power issues such as blown fuses and fires. It allows a lower power running to the switch in the cab and keeps all the 162W power to the light in the engine compartment where it belongs. The Nilight wire harness was well worth the peace of mind and safety with the install. I have had 0 issues with the install of this light bar, mechanically the mounting brackets are a bit different then what you would expect but a little time looking at the way they mount and adjust they are easy to install and very sturdy and adjustable. I see they have "bar" mounting adapters as well to mount on roll cages and light racks, which may be another option for some. My truck is not a Rock Climbing, Mud Bogging beast like others have, mine is a daily driver and getting around 9 months of the year at 7000 to 12000 feet altitude, weather changes by the mile. I can be in sunshine and dry roads and five minutes later 18 inches of snow and ice with white out conditions and icy roads. Having some extra light is quite beneficial. Closed roads are not an option. I even have to drive through a river or two getting to some places I go to fix equipment. You don't go to the grocery store without survival gear in the truck. Absolutely the best light I have ever owned. I will be buying more products from Nilight. ... show more
