Description

The i70 is a modern and sleek sport-touring helmet composed of HJC’s advanced polycarbonate material. The full-face shell is noticeably more compact and lighter than its predecessor, the IS-17. The i70 features an inner, drop-down sunshield with a new, easy-to-use lever. Top vents optimize ventilation into the interior air channels and out through the exterior exhaust vent with an aerodynamic spoiler design. D.O.T. Approved and Meets FMVSS 218 Standard.

Let me say that this is about as cheap as you’d want to go, in my opinion, for a helmet. That being said, I’m impressed with the quality, fit, and structure of this helmet. Don’t cheap out on your noggin! This meets my price point and safety needs. I’ve been down a few times and one thing I’ve learned is= save money somewhere else not on your helmet or gloves, and this one fits the bill! I actually had an issue at first. The helmet didn't come with a chin curtain, though HJC's website indicates it is an included piece. I contacted the seller, who replied immediately even though they weren't at home already. The rep didn't replay again and so I messaged them again almost two weeks later, then checked my mail and found the new chin curtain had been delivered. Communications could've been better, but the outcome was very satisfactory. The primary visor has very stiff detents which are good for getting some air without it flying open and or slamming shut. I haven't gotten a pinlock lens yet because I shouldn't need it for another five or six months. The internal sun visor works great and, after a few rides to get used to it, is easy to raise and lower. I wear an XL in every helmet I've tried so far (halfs, fulls, and modulars) and this helmet fits true to size. The cheek pads still put some pressure after a couple hundred miles, but they're wearing in. The lining is comfortable and breathes well, and the snaps are very secure. The helmet isn't super quiet and but it's not really loud either. I'm able to record good vocal audio with a lapel mic in the helmet, even at 60+ MPH. The vents seem pretty good, and I ride with them all open. Hottest ride so far was been about 80, so not fully tested yet. I bought a ratcheting chin strap that added to the helmet; I don't like d-rings. All in all, this is a very good helmet at a fair price, and customer support came through in the end. ... show more

Arrived damaged. Asked for a replacement which was supposed to be sent. Then the return was mysteriously canceled. Decided to just keep it because I wanted you ride and didn't want to deal with the return any more, or shell out more cash while I did. Helmet itself is ok/good. I love the integrated sun visor but helmet is VERY loud. Tons of wind noise. Vents open/close positions are not intuitive (move them toward each other to close, front up & top down = closed). Visor slider on left side is hard to find with gloves on. Struggling to find a compatible Bluetooth setup that isn't ridiculously priced. ... show more

I've tried on a lot of helmets trying to find a good fit. Seems like everything is running extremely small. I have always worn an XL. I ordered an XL and it was perfect. It might seem like it's kind of tight at first but they're meant to be at first but will break in and get around 15% looser after around 10 hours or so ... show more

I usually wear a medium in helmets. Out of the box, it fits snug. I’ve worn it twice so far and it’s doable. I believe it will “pack” a bit. So, once broke in, it will be perfect. I have the Sena 30K mounted. Fits perfectly. Don’t even feel the speakers up against my ears. Built in speaker pockets are located perfectly. I didn’t get hardly any road noise inside the helmet - at 60 mph I could: talk & hear my wife just fine on the phone, & I could hear the music inside my helmet perfectly. Sun visor works great - has to use it yesterday. For me, it extends low enough for great coverage. The actuating lever is easy to use. Helmet is lite weight. Great helmet. Would recommend. This is my first helmet, I didn’t really want to spend $500+ on a shoei but also wasn’t about to go out and buy an $80 helmet, it is my brain I’m trying to protect here. It’s comfortable, I don’t notice it getting particularly hot, and I LOVE the pop down sun visor inside it is so handy. I got a sena headset in this helmet easily too.
