I've been using Modular helmets for the last 30 years. With a typical modular helmet, where the chin bar only raises over the front of the helmet, on my BMW K1100LT I can ride with the chin bar up because the wind screen directs the wind far enough overhead that it doesn't interfere. I purchased a Harley Davidson Vrod Street Rod and with out a wind screen opening the chin bar even at lower speeds pulls my head all over. Since the chin bar on this helmet flips 180 degrees, no more issues when I want to ride with it open. It does run a little small compared to other helmet brand. I probably could have gone up a size from Med to Large. It is a brighter silver than it looks in the pictures, almost chrome.

Yesterday, I was waiting in traffic when a car rear-ended me at about 40mph. It was hot, and I had the visor and chinpiece flipped back. The two cheek pieces on this helmet suffered significant damage, which would have flattened my face. Without them? I’d have needed facial reconstruction—no exaggeration. Instead, I walked away with zero facial injuries, just shaken and grateful. What blew me away: Secure fit—it didn’t budge or come off during impact. Durable structure—the shell didn’t crack, and the liner absorbed the blow. I’ve tried many helmets over the years, but this one proved itself when it mattered most. If you're hesitating over open-face vs modular, trust me: this is the real deal.

My last helmet was a medium HJC that I received as a gift in 2006. This medium HJC is much light and I love the modular option and the built in shades! I originally ordered the small because my head is 56cm, but it was toooooo tight front to back. So I returned it and ordered the medium. It fits but it still squeezes my head after awhile. I must have the oblongest head in the world! But I LOVE the color and the nice big head vent. And maybe the cushioning will eventually give way to my loooong head.

I really like this modular helmet. The way it flips all the way to the back is great. I love the flexibility of being full face or 3/4 helmet. Easy to change set up even while riding without having to stop. I checked the fit of another HJC helmet that is very similar in a store so felt pretty confident of the size I was getting and ended up being very happy with that. So far the shields have been working good for me. Only rode about 3 or 4 times but great for me. I don't have any issue with noise level - seems as good as any helmet I have had. Seems comfortable for the rides I have taken - max of about 6 hours so far but no issue. Definitely recommend. For the money, it is great. Cheaper than some of the other brands but I think a good price point.

Unless you are a very big person 6f+ with 3 feet wide shoulders this Helmet will look ridicules on you with sizes of Large and above, it is a Huge helmet, I cannot express how big this helmet is.

Great price for this helmet. I love that it's got options as far as air vents and the fit of this helmet is perfect. Comfort is taking a bit to get use to as its my first helmet. Added a mic into helmet and sound is great.

So I have owned this helmet for about 7 months now. It took about 1 1/2 weeks to break it in. I installed my packtalk bold system into the helmet with some slight difficulty but got it. The top vent is great. You can really feel the air rushing across your head which is nice in the summer heat. The front vent is lacking and can sometimes cause chafing of the lips. The ability to ride full faced, half face, or just let the wind blow in your face is nice. After owning it for a little bit I had worries about the hinge system. And then about 2 weeks ago, it happened. I tried to flip the chin bar back over my head and the right side hinge for the visor completely broke. Then after some monkeying with it, the left broke. Luckily I had my tank bag and just took the visor off and rode without. Mxgear are warrantying it and I will get a new one soon. But alas, I will probably sell it and get a simpler helmet.
