My feet are wide, flat and 9.25” long. I generally wear a Women’s 6.5. I purchased the Men’s 5/Women’s 6 based on Sure-Grip recommendation to size down. With thin socks, it fits like a glove. With regular socks, it is snug. If you want to wear thick or two pairs of socks, I’d definitely suggest sizing up. I don’t think breaking in will be enough. Seems generally well-made and glides very nicely. I’m returning this pair because of defect, but I will be buying a replacement. Check your purchase carefully, this pair had a boot with the top sideways of the base/sole… see pic. I tried to put the blue line to mark the center of the boot; the red lines mark the center of the upper part. I also have Roller Derby Candi Girl Carlin which I think are great, but they have to fit well, because the upper is not leather or suede so there really isn’t the option of breaking them in to fit your foot.     • Great Skate if you don't need too much ankle support
These skates are LOVELY! great quality for the price too. My only issue w/ them and why I had to get the Fame skate instead is because there is zero padding in the neck boot. That is great if you have stronger ankles and need less support and want more flexibility. For me as a newbie though I need more stiffness in my ankle. The fame has padding and a bit more ankle structure. A lot more comfortable for me. It is a personal preference so just do your homework. I am a womens size 6.5 sneaker US and I fit in the 5 but my toe felt too compressed so I found a size 6 to fit best in sure grip. ... show more
