Recently came across my good ol PSP while digging through some old stuff. Right away I noticed the back cover was sticking out and found that the battery had swole up due to no use or time. The cover was broken and battery no good. I found these replacement items and ordered them to see if I could resurrect my little system. Package arrived in a neat small box containing not one but TWO batteries, a charger with a nice long cord and a battery cover. Right away I put the battery in and plugged in the charger. VIOLA! it worked like a charm! I went through old files and saw that the last time it was accessed was back in 2008, brought back old memories of good times. The only drawback was the cover that came with the batteries didn't fit my psp as it was a 2000 model but not a dealbreaker. If you have your old psp laying around and want to breath some life back into it or found one for sale cheap, these batteries and charger will bring it back to life. Great product for the price, highly recommended!

The main photo shows a big square teal label on these batteries: this is the battery’s back side and is not visible when installed. However there is gold ink printed on the front, which I found mildly annoying. I have a translucent shell on my PSP 3000, so this is visible through the battery door. Thankfully the ink is more dull than the photos, and it blends in without being an eyesore. Nor does it pretend to be an “original” Sony battery. I never owned a slim PSP back when they were contemporary, so I can’t state how the battery life compares to an original. But it does appear to hold its own, and I saw no dramatic change in battery drain, even while dumping the UMD discs I own. So it seems like a good sign these aren’t bunk. I didn’t have any use for the battery door, but I appreciate that it came with an AC adapter. Slim PSPs can charge via USB port, but in absence of a proper Mini USB, the DC port is the only way to charge these batteries. I like the non-traditional form factor of the charger. Reminds me more of the Nintendo Switch’s original charger than the PSP’s. Overall a good product, and good value at just over $20. If you don’t need an AC adapter, then I’d recommend this same brand’s bundle that has a standalone PSP battery charger. Useful device for anyone wondering if the PSP they own is functional, as you can charge the batteries without depending on the original hardware. Regardless of how you prefer to charge them, the main concern for most is whether or not the batteries are decent. Yes— they perform well and without serious issues. These batteries get a strong recommendation. Additional note… I have no idea if these batteries can be used as a ”Pandora Battery”. It seems the PSP 3000 lacks the ability to modify the battery from homebrew software. This wasn’t a problem for me as my PSP was not “bricked”. I found out about the PSP 3000’s hardware limitation only after installing CFW. If I have a chance to try converting one of these on a PSP 1000 or 2000, I’ll update this review with what I find. But keep in mind that these batteries are for slim consoles. They may work with a PSP 1000 in basic function, but the form factor is different.

Definitely does not work for the PSP-1001 which is what I apparently have. Battery packs appear to be very nice and fit in the compartment and the charger has the correct connector. Good value for the money but be sure to verify your model. It appears behind the battery pack.
