The construction is solid and has a large enough adhesive base to actually stick! The screen shape works great when you don't want to obstruct your vision. It has enough screen brightness to be clearly visible with sun glare. My dashboard has a slight curve to it, so I added a small shim under the front of the plastic base mount to make it more sturdy - eliminate wobble from the curve. Android Auto works great. It may add a slight amount of distortion when using the bluetooth to FM radio link, but I can't guarantee that. Instructions are sketchy, but pretty easy to get it up and running. I got the backup camera, no info on hooking it up, but fasten the red wire to a backup light (+). When on backup camera, it covers to whole width of the screen - great! Software and screen layout are pretty intuitive. I feel this unit was well worth the price I paid, and I hope it functions for at least a couple years! ... show more

Installation of the unit is straightforward and all the functions work out of the box. The boot up time seems to be fairly quick (within 10-15 seconds). From P to R - the reverse camera triggers to come on fairly quick as well. CarPlay and connection when you enter the car - seems to be consistently good. The 90 degree USB-C power cord works best if you don't need the backup camera. It is tight when you use both and have to turn the plug the other way. I got this for my wife’s car, it has a regular cd player no screen or Bluetooth. I was concerned with the low price, thinking the response time for the touch screen may be slow or not user friendly. We were pleasantly surprised! The thing pretty much operates from your phone, so if you’ve got a newer phone, you’ll have no worries. Love the dashcam, haven’t been able to wire the reverse cam yet, but it seems pretty simple. My wife loves it because she can use her phone library for music, pandora, or pretty much any streaming music app AND her satellite radio, which she loves! We got more than we expected and I have no complaints. I got the stuff I needed to wire it directly to the fuse box (the right way) with a fuse tap and additional cigarette lighter plug, because you don’t want to go wiring it direct without the power transformer the plug provides and possibly burn it out. To sum it all up, you can buy this with confidence, and in the event that it doesn’t live up to your expectations, you always have the 30 days to return it. Hope this helps! ... show more

I bought this and installed it as best as I could with wires not running up the dash(as much as I hate clutter). I should have left the wires over the dash as I tried it out. So I've learned with a samsung s23 ultra that quite often while driving the android auto connects and disconnects quite frequently(app has been checked for updates daily and current version installed). Also should mention that when vehicle is first started and system is still booting your radio will blare static until the fm transmitter connects (not what I mean when I said above that android auto disconnects frequently). Another thing is when first starting the radio I have to manually connect my phone to the radio(I have waited 3 minutes for my phone to connect automatically). There is no place that I have found to update the software on the device and settings are limited. You can record video but cannot do playback or do any other options the receiver offers until android auto is disconnected. If you're not worried about all that it's a good way to add apple carplay/android auto to poor people cars that didn't come with these options. May also be worth just spending the extra money to get a name brand radio with all these options and not a ebay/Amazon special radio. ... show more

I use this with iOS, can't speak for the Android experience. I bought this because the touch function on my infotainment screen stopped working and I'm not going to pay $900 to get it replaced. I don't use the backup camera that came with this since my factory one still works, and the dashcam functionality is not important to me at all (though it works well!) From the main screen whenever you make your selection, very clear instructions are displayed on what to do next. Maps, Waze and Spotify all work exactly the way they're supposed to. The screen is very bright and responsive, and you can set a night mode during which the screen brightness will automatically turn down during the hours you designate. My phone connects every time I turn on my car with zero issues. The build quality is nice, it came with 2 screen protectors already installed. It has a little weight to it, so it doesn't bounce around excessively when hitting bumps on the road. The provided 12 volt power adapter cord is VERY long, I assume to give us options for installation, but what I did instead was use a different adapter that monitors my battery charge and has 2 usb ports on it, so I just power it through that with a much shorter cord. If you have deep dashboard and the dashcam function is super important to you, you might want to consider another option since the camera on this will pick up a lot of your dashboard. Alternately you could mount the provided backup camera in a way that it will act as a front-facing camera just by sticking it to your windshield.
