    • Disappointing downgrade from PRO 1

I upgraded from the HidrateSpark PRO 1 to the PRO 2 expecting improvements, but instead got a worse experience. The PRO 2 was redesigned to only sync when you manually open the app — it will not stay connected in the background like the PRO 1 did. This means the Apple Watch complication is basically useless, since the data is always outdated unless I open the app on my phone. None of this limitation is disclosed in the product description. After multiple support emails, I was told this is an intentional “battery-saving” design change, not a bug. Resetting the puck and installing the latest app update did nothing to fix the issue. Reviews on Reddit and Amazon confirm many users are seeing the same problem. If you rely on continuous syncing and Apple Watch integration, avoid the PRO 2.     • Do not buy it! Not worth it!

This is actually quite a disappointment. The first ones where great and it keeps working. This one doesn’t connect, the lights don’t actually work when it needs to and it’s just not worth it. Just buy the first ones and they do work perfectly!

In general, HidrateSpark water bottles work really well. I had a different smart water bottle 10 years ago and they’ve come a long way. This bottle is pretty hassle free. It needs to be calibrated periodically but it’s a pretty painless process. The basic functionality of the Pro 2 and the Pro are the same. I think the Pro 2 has to be recalibrated much less and is much more reliable. I also appreciate that it charges via USB C. It also is possible to have more than one connected at a time. For the life of me, I can’t find the charger for the older version. Definitely worth the cost especially considering how much a Stanley cup costs. ... show more

Not worth $70. Sometimes measures drinks. For two days I had it on my desk next to my phone as I drank. I had several drinks and it never updated. I had several drinks where afterwards the light flashed as if registering but the drinks weren’t in the app(it will show time and measured amount). Over 30 minutes with phone sitting next to it, it never registered three drinks and showed connected in the Hidratespark app and in my phone’s Bluetooth. Removed reinstalled app. Recalibrated twice. I finished the full bottle twice and it never registered 21oz(9.1oz). Don’t trust it and I don’t have time to make sure it’s registering drinks. ... show more
