about every 18 mos I buy a pair of cheap hiking boots/high top "walking" shoes for work that I beat without mercy on a daily basis. I chose these this time, and found that they not only fit the work bill, they are light, sturdy and very comfortable. So much so, I find myself choosing them for "not work" activities too! I was also concerned about them being waterproof, as in cheap shoes that means a hidden plastic bag making for sweaty feet - Yuck. These apparently do breathe, at least enough.

These have become my light weight winter boots.

The good, these boots were a good fit and very comfortable from the beginning. The bad, there was almost no level of waterproof or even water resistance. The sole started ripping off from the front in about 5 weeks if that. I do work outside but it's not rough terrain or anything of the sort maybe some light mud or gravel here or there. Got a $35 pair of boots from Walmart thst held up better than these and kept my feet dry. If you can get them cheap it might be worth it just don't expect longevity unless you're walking on carpet most of the day.
