I replaced a pair of boots costing 50% more with these. I was happy with my previous boots, but I was disappointed in how quickly the outsoles wore out. I got one year out of them, and the uppers were still perfect, but the soles could no longer grip rock and were unsafe, even though the name on the soles was Vibram. So I wanted to see if I could spend less and still get a year of use. It looks like I will. I had to replace the laces (flimsy), the insoles (uncomfortable), and sew a small seam that let go (see picture) but overall I'm satisfied with these boots after 8 months of use and I'm confident that they will last a full year and maybe a little more. Was looking for a hiking boot in a xwide width and not pay a lot. Boot is only to be used occasionally while hunting. Used Neats foot oil to soften them up and have since put 15 miles on them over a few weeks. So far so good. No blisters and feel solid to walk in.

I am a construction boss and I have been wearing the ancestors of this boot for many years. I almost bought this one about 4 years ago, but have been happy with the older version for so long that I didn’t. This time around I caved and went for this modified boot. Plus- it’s comfortable out of the box, though I did think it a little tight at first. I usually end up with wide fitting which didn’t seem to be available in this style, so with fingers crossed I chose this and, IT WORKED. They’re great and with an average of 10+ miles on my feet per day, my feet don’t hurt. The only issue I have so far is that they looked like year old boots after the first day. They have a napped finish on the color I chose, and having checked again since, nowhere in the description does it state this. Also not sure how waterproof they can really be with this type of finished leather. I guess we will see. With what I know so far, would purchase again, but with a normal leather finish. ... show more

These Altitude boots are very comfortable, just as all the others I have had in the past. One difference was the color. The picture on the website has the boots as a light brown. When the boots arrived they were a dark chocolate color, but after I wore them they turned a lighter brown. Still not like the website picture. Really nice looking shoe. Insole seemed very comfortable but was really tight in width. Seemed to fit a little small in width. I sent shoes back. If shoes came in wide width I would order them.

have been my go to boots for twenty years,my first pair went 3 years before replacement...no longer more than one season out of these, usually the sole starts separating, and my current pair has fast wear and stretch on exterior leather...there has been an erosion of quality over past 4-5 years. Still my boot of choice,just not as enthusiastic about durability as i once was. ... show more
