These outdoor planter boxes are lovely. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but what we have here is a wire-like shell with a black grow bag sitting inside of it. The grow bag doesn't fit perfectly - it's a little taller than the shell, but it works well, and once the flower box is planted, you can't really tell. I like using grow bags and don't object to the concept in general, but my feeling is that we will need to replace the grow bags next year, as they can be subject to rotting over a long season. At a glance, it doesn't look like the seller offers grow bag replacements for these. Be not dismayed, though. Next year, we can use coconut coir basket liners. Still, you'll want to know before you purchase these that they will require annual maintenance. This is not a one-and-done purchase. Installation was easy, though somewhat time consuming. Not terrible, but not super quick. The brackets are very sturdy though, and these flower boxes aren't going anywhere in a wind storm. Overall, I really like these window boxes and am very excited to have them. Just know that you'll need to invest a little money in them again next year if you want to keep using them.

These 30-inch window boxes have been a very effective solution for adding some vertical greenery to my outdoor space. I found the adjustable brackets to be a standout feature, as they made it simple to get a secure fit on my specific railing without needing any specialized tools. The inclusion of the non-woven fabric liners is a thoughtful addition because they help retain enough moisture for the plants while still allowing for proper drainage and air circulation to the roots. The black metal frame feels sturdy and well-constructed, providing a classic look that blends in perfectly with the rest of my deck decor. It is a very practical setup for growing flowers or even a small herb garden, and having a two-pack allowed me to create a nice, balanced look across the railing. The boxes hold a good amount of soil without bowing or feeling unstable, and the lightweight design makes them easy to move or reposition if the light conditions change throughout the season. Took a little time to get the adjustments right on the hangers so they configured to my deck but I give this seller / manufacturer credit for engineering so many configurations so it will fit almost any deck.

These window boxes turned out better than I expected. Once we got them hung and filled with plants, they made the whole area look brighter and more finished. It’s amazing how much a few flowers can change the feel of a porch or railing. They feel pretty sturdy once installed, which was something I was worried about at first. Nobody wants a planter tipping over once it’s full of soil and plants. The adjustable brackets made it easy to get a good fit, and the little support bar on the bottom helps keep everything sitting level instead of leaning forward. I like the fabric liners too. They hold the soil in place and seem to keep moisture balanced without turning everything into mud. Planting them was straightforward, and once everything was set up, there really wasn’t much fuss afterward. They also just look nice. Not too fancy, not too plain. Once you add flowers or herbs, they really dress up the space and make it feel more welcoming. If you’ve been wanting to add some plants to a railing or window but didn’t want to deal with bulky pots everywhere, these are a really nice option that make it easy to add color without taking over your space.

I would like to rate the HFHOME 2 pack 30 inch window boxes with 3.5 stars but since that’s not possible I rounded up to 4 stars. These planter boxes really are a metal cage with a felt liner. I do like the design and would give the overall appearance a solid 5 stars. The metal is sturdy and overall the quality seems pretty good. Just note the color is an ever so slight gray. You won’t see much of a difference when hanging over a white fence but I thought I would mention it. From a size perspective I like the 30inch width but wish they would be a little bit wider and deeper for my purposes. I have hung them over a vinyl picket fence and needed to pick spots that are not too open, otherwise they would get a little bit lost. That said the size is perfect for a deck or a balcony and generally smaller spaces as they don’t take up a lot of real estate. As for my star deduction, the assembly is much more involved than I had hoped. While the brackets are fully adjustable to accommodate thinner versus wider railings or fences the distance between the brackets is fixed. So for our picket fence it means that if proper assembled the space between the brackets is a smidge too small to clear the wider pickets of our fence. I was able to make it work by attaching one of the brackets with one instead of two screws and slightly tilting the bracket sideways to accommodate the width. The other thing I am a bit iffy about is the screw mechanism this comes with. Each small screw comes with a cap that screws on top of it. Getting both really tight is a challenge even with a screwdriver, so I will have to take out my wrench kit and see if that tightens it. If not I have plenty of hex nuts that should do the trick. Also the kit comes with stoppers to avoid tilting of the box forward when filled with something heavy. It is absolutely critical to attach these stoppers. Without them just the smallest bit of weight, even a gentle tug, slides the screws in the bracket that goes over your rail forward. While it doesn’t detach, the box will be crooked. The stoppers provide that extra security to ensure the box doesn’t tilt or shift. Lastly there is another optional bracket provided to ensure the planter boxes cannot be lifted out of place but due to our fence pickets I was not able to use these. And the kit also comes with zip ties if needed which I also did not use as I want to keep my options open to move the boxes to other spots easily. Overall the two pack is a good value for the money, but be prepared to spend some time if you are installing this on a fence. And make sure you retighten the screws and caps occasionally for safety purposes.

These window box planters are very heavy duty! They will last for a very long time. They come with black felt like material to hold in soil but still able to drain. It comes with 2 ways to attach it, one of them being for hanging it over the railing on the side of a porch. The design is intricate, giving it a unique bonus. These planters are pretty big!
