I got this picture frame to frame a diamond art picture that I recently did. I wasn't sure if the thickness of the diamonds would fit but because of the mat it worked very well. It was easy to open the back to insert my art and it looks very easy to hang as well. This picture frame doesn't have a way to sit it on a shelf though. It is light weight and I love that it is plexiglass so I don't have to worry about it breaking in storage as this will be hung only in the wintertime.

This is literally a super thin piece of wood with paint on it. No stand to keep it standing up. Falls over easily. Should have been a bit wider for standing purposes. Everything else is fine.

Plexiglass in picture frames certainly makes them lighter. However, plexiglass scratches very easily so that over time, the look of your cherished photos becomes diminished until you replace the frame (or if you are lucky the plexiglass. Needless to say, I am not a fan of this style of frame because of this fact. I do like that the frame came with a matte, which often makes the mounting of your photo look as if it is of professional quality. At $11.39 at the time of this review, the price is lower than many frames of comparable size and style. I look the natural wood, contrasting with most black frames to add variety to my photos hanging on my walls. This natural look goes well with brightly colored photos.
