This set is really fun and colorful. My kid loved making the birds, especially the parrot. The clay is soft, easy to shape, and doesn’t make a big mess. The instructions are simple to follow and kept my kid interested the whole time. I also like that it air dries, so we didn’t have to bake anything. Once it dries, the figures hold their shape pretty well. The only downside is that the clay can dry out if you don’t close the containers tightly, and I wish there was a little more clay in each can. But overall, it’s a great activity and keeps kids busy in a creative way. Would definitely buy again.

Once you buy a Hey Clay kit, you get online access on how to make other creatures. We supplemented our kit with other air dry clay, but these kits are the best way to engage kids creative spark and start them on their journey of creation! Highly recommend!

This was a perfect little gift for my daughter for christmas. She really loves playing with clay and kinetic sand. This clay was easy to mold and shape and fairly easy to clean up as far a clay goes. This was super fun for her as she loves anything unicorn. The colors looked really good and had a nice variety. The clay dried really nicely after she made what she wanted and she even made some cute figurines into earrings for herself. This is slightly cheaper than the big brands so its a good deal to get. My daughter has fun playing and being creative and silly with this. Perfect for kids!!

Our family has really enjoyed using this Hey Clay set, and it’s been a wonderful way to introduce kids to clay sculpting. The clay itself is high quality with a smooth, soft texture that’s easy for small hands to shape and combine. It isn’t sticky or crumbly, and it has no noticeable odor, which makes the experience more pleasant and worry-free during longer crafting sessions. Ease of use is one of the strongest points. The clay is ready to work with straight out of the container, and the step-by-step instructions make the process approachable even for beginners. The guidance is clear enough that kids can follow along independently, yet flexible enough to encourage their own creative ideas and variations. Cleanup is refreshingly simple. The clay doesn’t leave residue behind on hands or surfaces, and any small bits are easy to pick up once playtime is over. This clay modeling kit was quite a bit of fun for my 4 and 5 year old, as well as myself! In fact, having 3 project animals inside the box worked out great for us! It was hard to choose who would work on what -- each one was adorable, charming, and delightfully weird. The instructions are locked behind an app, which isn't my favorite. Everyone wants you to download their app these days from grocery stores to restaurants to schools to utility companies... and my poor phone is pretty bogged down trying to keep up. However, after I sighed at it and begrudgingly downloaded it and set up an account, I do have to admit that it has some pretty cool effects. My kids enjoyed the silly nature of the instructions. But app access is problematic in another way too -- with the three of us working together on this, my singular phone was not enough. I actually had to go get my tablet and pry my husband's phone from him too. Three devices for three animals definitely felt like a bit much. The clay itself was beautiful. Bold colors, smooth texture, and a soft springiness to it. It didn't stick to hands and was easy to work with! However, as we were fighting over my phone (and before I thought to get two other devices involved), I guess quite some time elapsed and the texture of the clay changed -- it started to dry and become more difficult to work with and developing cracks. Being air dry clay, I guess this makes sense... but I would have liked it if we had more time to manipulate it without it changing. So overall, fun! Worth it! We love the quirky, janky animals we produced! The instruction system was a little bit annoying, but still cute. And if you work fairly fast, you won't have any issues with clay quality and texture.
