Pros: * It comes with the Hestra slim handcuffs (so no need to buy it separately) so you can save yourself a few bucks AND have a way to secure the gloves (no more lost pairs) * Color is quite a cheerful red - think fire truck, lipstick or Santa Claus so that was eye-catching and looks luscious * You get a sample size bottle of leather balm to nourish and keep your gloves moisturized, conditioned and helps with water repellency. * Wrist-rope tightener strap is easy to pull to tighten and trap the warm air and keep wind from coming through. Cons: I'm honestly sending this back because the leather at the fingers seem so wrinkly, I would prefer a brand new pair of gloves to not have so much wrinkle.... made me wonder if this was gently used or if I was unfortunately sent very tried on pair. The tags weren't on for example... though I can't imagine how someone could TRY on the pair with out cutting the plastic thing that holds it together. This item was sold and shipped by Backcountry btw. Also not a major con but the top of the thumb is brown, not red. I thought the whole back of the hand would be RED and the palm would be brown.     • Warm and stylish with some shedding of leather
The description on these is wrong, they don't have PrimaLoft Gold insulation or a removable wool lining. They have a non-removable wool terry lining that I like a lot, it feels like a soft terry towel. It is comfy and warm, the Hestra Army Leather Abisko has the same type of lining. I would say it is good for cold, but not frigid weather. If you wanted to get these wet frequently they may not be the best choice. I also like the contrasting colors, they are fun! The leather is supple and seems hardy. My one complaint on these is that the seams are on the outside, and the leather will shed small bits of leather (like leather lint) from these gloves. It is most noticeable on dark jackets or fabric. I assume this would diminish over time, but it is annoying. For the price I think Hestra could figure out a solution to this. My army leather Abisko gloves also have outside seams, but do not do this. So it must be possible. ... show more

This is my second pair of Hestras. They are super warm, made of natural materials and they’re beautiful.

These gloves look extremely nice when new, they are very comfortable and very warm, so for their function as gloves I have no complaints at all. However, this glove is intentionally made in a retro style which leads to some of the rougher surface of the leather being on the outside, and this will lead to it accumulating a significant amount of dirt. I know that a light colored pair of gloves is not going to look clean forever, but on a style such as the fall line or omni glove the seams are on the inside and will not give you this problem. It is a shame because I love the paracord wrist strap, I was drawn to this glove because I like that feature more than a velcro strap. The attached picture is after about 3 months of use as an everyday clove and not doing any kind of real labor with them. I haven't attempted to clean them yet but you should basically expect them to look like this most of the time if you get the natural color. ... show more

Its a really great glove, great leather, well constructed, the fit is a little snug though. I think the sizing is Euro, not American. They did stretch after a short time though, and fit nicely. I have not skied with them yet here in the Northeast, where its usually pretty cold. I typically wear a pair of liners under my ski gloves, and so if you want to do that, you need to really order up on the size. I got size 11, and usually wear a U.S. large. ... show more
