They fall apart quickly and have zero cushion or support. They are absolutely costume shoes. However, they are the cutest damn boots ever. They are perfect aesthetic wise. And there's literally no other boots out there that look this way while being actual proper boots construction wise! It's driving me crazy! What makes the visual design of these boots unique is that 1) they are the perfect flattering height- in between calf and ankle height. They are shorter than virtually every boot that touts itself to be calf or mid calf height- I would say they are low calf height. And they are taller than all ankle boots of course. Idk what it is about this middle height but it doesn't seem to exist usually! 2) The velvet/faux suede fabric- it's the perfect pitch black color- something I hate about leather boots is how the black is never actually black it's a dark grey by nature of how light and leather works. But by nature of how velvet and faux suede works- the black color is a perfect lovely saturated true black. 3) the buckles and zippers- I simple love the placement and choice of metals here. It's not "biker chick" it's "mysterious magician girl". Anyway... these broke down within a couple months and at about the 9 month mark the zipper pulls broke off... but I'm going to buy them again anyway... because there is simply no alternative. This time though I'm going to try coating them in a waterproof spray first. I'm going to spray them on my old boots first though to be sure that the spray doesn't alter the perfect black color and texture. Wish me good luck...

I love these. Very comfortable and I can fit my insoles in them for a little extra support. Great choice to dress up leggings in the fall/winter or tights and still be comfortable all day.

I love this boot......it fits me perfectly and is very attractive, however............I had asked if it had a hidden heel in it and almost everyone who responded said no, but it does. I just returned a boot with a hidden heel but it was about 1.5 to 2". I'm keeping this boot because it's only about half an inch but it should be disclosed in the description. I really don't understand what this new thing of having a hidden heel is all about. There are plenty of boots out there for women who want heels, PLEASE stop taking these flat boots that tall women are intentionally seeking out and hiding a heel in them!! If we wanted a heel we would look for that. These boots are comfortable, but they do feel a little like I'm tilted forward but not enough to return them because there just aren't many options out there these days w/o a heel. This is crazy!!
