I recently did a minor goggle search of folliculitis. My partner has been going through extreme itch, flakes and sore, red scabs on his scalp. Prior to this we'd use tea tree oil on his scalp in a carrier oil. It would be helpful for a few days then the itch would be back. Since learning about mild folliculitis, I invested in this shampoo considering reviews on this pick were good prior to my purchase. Since we received this shampoo, it's been used twice with good results. For the most part we wash with a clarifying shampoo first then use this shampoo twice followed by a moisturizing shampoo and our regular conditioner. Since this came in the equation, the red, itchy, sore spots have for the most part healed. There's one still in the process of healing but it's a major improvement from before the first use. Flakes are for the most part gone. I have noted that around the hairline is still mildly flakey since it was shampooed as thorough as we thought. Of all the folliculitis shampoos available, I choose this option based on ingredient list. Tea tree oil, biotin and rosemary oil are listed ingredients. While there is other things I not the more knowledgeable about listed, I'm ok with the ingredients as a whole. Scent wise this definitely smells medicated. It's not off putting but it's not something I can reasonably describe. Follow directions as written on the bottle. The shampoo is to be applied and massaged in for no less than two minutes. Since we do two washes with this shampoo we get 4 to 5 minutes of the shampoo on the scalp. The shampoo can be drying so it is recommended that you follow up with your normal wash day routine. Overally this is a quality shampoo for mild folliculitis. It's been extremely helpful in ridding my partner of flakes and itch. I'll continue to keep this shampoo on hand as it was more than necessary at keeping the scalp healthy. Update May 22nd, 2026 We've been using this shampoo since February. Given that we cycle every.7 to 14 days between washes scalp has time to build-up flakes. While the hair is more flakey in some areas, the itch for the most part of gone with the use of this shampoo. All of the red, sore, bumpy spots on the scalp has healed and has been kept at bay. We still have the bottle as you don't need to use a lot of it. Overally, this shampoo has been working extremely well for us. I'll for sure repurchase when this current bottle is finished.

So I struggle off and on with really dry and itchy scalp. Which in turn causes me to scratch when then brings on "the snow". Every so often I will use a bottle of head and shoulders and for a while that seemed to help. For the last couple of years it hasn't helped and I've just struggled and suffered. I've looked up "oils" to put on my scalp etc but mom life just leaves me forgetting or too tired or "maybe tomorrow" lol. So I was really going through it recently on one of 'on again itchiness and I was mentally starting to lose it. I started doing more research. I came across this on Amazon. A long eith others of course, and I settled on this one. For me and what my goals were. It just matched up with what I was looking for as well as the reviews were good. I can say that this has NOT disappointed me. I've used it 3 times and the itchiness is GONE. The flakes are gone as I'm not scratching anymore, and the best part, my hair loss has slowed down tremendously. I'm very satisfied with this product. It's worth every penny and then some. I don't dislike the smell, but I've smelled better. But I can say that I've smelled much worse.

I’m not exactly sure how to rate this as it does work but it will not work with Folliculitis decalvans which is what I ended up having. It does work though for the itching that comes with it. Smells great though and I feel very clean after using.

I love this product .However, Twice I have been sent a different product Tinea Versiicolor Treatment Kit One I was told to keep and the second one I need to send back to get my refund. I have not tried to reorder the shampoo a third time. The shampoo has solved my problem after years of itchy scalp.

I’ve been using the Hermon Folliculitis Shampoo for a few weeks now, hoping it would help calm my itchy scalp and reduce dandruff. There are definitely some positives — it lathers nicely, rinses clean, and leaves my scalp feeling refreshed without any irritation. I also like that it includes ingredients like biotin and exfoliating agents that are meant to support follicle health. However, I haven’t noticed a drastic improvement compared to other well-known brands I’ve tried. My scalp feels a bit better, but the results aren’t as significant as I expected given the price and description. The scent is also not my favorite — it’s a bit medicinal and doesn’t leave that fresh or pleasant smell you’d want from a shampoo. Overall, it’s a decent product that does its job reasonably well, but it didn’t stand out enough for me to switch from my usual go-to brands.
