I wanted to find an affordable 8-strand to try, so I bought this one and KastKing in 50# and Mounchain in 40# (they didn't have 50#). Mounchain was a bad color, not like what was pictured and I really wanted more than 40 anyway, so that one was out. This Hercules and KastKing did hold 50# in my very simple dumbbell weight test. I spooled up the KastKing because I want to like that brand, but I didn't love it. It didn't seem to go back on the spool well after casting and it was still very loud. It just felt like regular twine winding back on the spool on retrieve. So then I tried this one (Hercules) and really liked it. Hercules broke at 50# twice on my dumbbell weight test but it also succeeded other times as well so I guess it's a bad test and 50# is right at the max. Hercules spools back on the reel very well, seems much quieter, and is a little cheaper than the KastKing (which means it's way cheaper than everything else). I might recommend buying the next test weight up from what you really want because I don't think this is industrial strength stuff, but I do think it's worth the price and I am happy with it. At least you get a cool picture of a swordfish.

Which means... of all the people that purchased this line in one weight or another, it is a total of 2286.24 people that figured, for the price, this was a decent enough line. I realize in all things, there will be haters. And nothing can be done about it. I suspect too that competition may come into play with bad reviews too, but I sure can't prove it. Just a thought though. However! I purchased the 70lb 8 braid 1000 meter spool in yellow of this line. This line spooled up fine on my Daiwa saltist 40 reel. I used a 4 pound drag setting on my spool line to set it tight on the reel as I spooled it on. Nothing bad happened, nothing looked bad about the line. It is a little more stiff feeling than name brand lines, but it flows well through the eyes of my fishing pole. I'll be taking it to the lake in a few days to see, how it is to cast and see if the negative reviews I have read about the color bleeding out is true or not. But thus far! It seems like it'll do the job. I will also be testing it's breaking strength shortly too and when I get those results, I'll post them here. I'm only giving it a 4 star review right now in lue of more testing, but so far! it's certainly not a 1 or 2 star rating. It would have to be seriously defective, before I could give it such a rating. Update in a week or so.

When my line arrived the spool was broken causing majority of the line to become tangled, has to throw the entire spool away. But the line did seem of good quality, too bad I didnt get to use it.
