I did not buy this for fishing, but my project I used this on requires a lot of tensile strength and this very thin line performs extremely well under 280 pounds of vertical stress (I didn't need to test higher than that). It stretches pretty far, but for my application it doesn't matter how far it stretches. It's also somewhat hard to cut unless you have an extremely sharp knife.
