Finally, I found cotton sheets on Amazon that are excellent quality. It's really hard to know what you're getting when you buy sight unseen, but these are 100% cotton, Egyptian, and have a slight sheen to the finish so the hand is very soft. The only issue I had so far is that the zipper is quite close to the edge of the opening and when I zipped it closed it kept catching the fabric. But I will happily put up with this because the quality is so good. I will definitely buy more of these sheets.

For a time it was plenty soft, but within three months it had serious signs of wear and by five months there was a sizeable rip. On top of that the fabric continues to tear like toilet paper which indicates that the overall strength of the fabric is pretty poor. In the second photo you can see how the fabric just completely comes apart before it tears. Regardless of how hard on my sheets I am, I treated these just like others that held up for years. Don't buy. Update: The seller got in touch with me soon after I posted this review with an explanation of why it likely ripped so quickly and offered a refund. They said it likely got snagged during production or packaging either after QC or before and was missed. Then washing and regular use caused it to come apart. Either way, this sounds reasonable and I appreciate that they backed up their product by offering the refund. It doesn't look like this is a very common complaint so I'm sure this was a fluke.
