This wheel arrived without a grease zerch and so there isn't any way to apply grease to the top wheel housing bearing. Everything else about the gate caster is well made strong and very sturdy.

This is a good option in supporting a heavy gate when the hinges aren’t cutting it. The installation was simple. It’s two U bolts with nuts. I found drilling over sized holes for aligning the bolts is easier. The wheel it self rolls easily. The only issue is that with the swivel function the wheel occasionally twists and jams the gate. With this wheel you also need to be on flat ground. It doesn’t work well on a slope.

This swivel caster wheel, designed for wooden gates and fences, boasts an impressive 700-pound capacity, comes with mounting hardware, and features a spring-loaded design for smooth operation on uneven surfaces. The quality is excellent—solidly built with durable materials—and it’s definitely heavy-duty, living up to its promise of handling substantial weight with ease.The caster’s 6-inch rubber wheel and zinc-plated steel bracket feel robust and well-constructed, capable of supporting our heavy wooden gate without any sagging or dragging. The 360-degree swivel allows for effortless maneuvering, making it easy to open and close the gate, even on our slightly uneven gravel driveway. The spring-loaded mechanism is a standout, absorbing shocks and adapting to terrain changes, which has been a game-changer for maintaining smooth operation. Installation was straightforward, thanks to the included screws and clear instructions, taking us less than 20 minutes to set up. The galvanized finish also seems resistant to rust, which is reassuring for outdoor use, as noted in similar products for withstanding weather challenges. Our only caution is that this caster isn’t suited for cutting large limbs or heavy-duty tasks beyond its intended gate support role, as it’s designed specifically for gate movement. I was searching for a gate wheel for a heavy gate hung over uneven ground, I found this FVCLBZ 6 inch heavy duty gate wheel with 700 pound capacity. This wheel is impressive! It weighs 8.8 pounds according to my scales. Just holding it, you know it truly is heavy duty. It's big enough to get the job done but still has curb appeal. The spring is so stout that it may cause my gate to raise instead of the spring compressing. I don't know the exact weight of my gate, but it's under 200 pounds. After I get this gate wheel mounted, I will see how it goes. I'm curious what the minimum weight to compress the spring might be. For level, smooth ground, this wouldn't be a concern. This attractive gate wheel is built to last! It has a very nice finish to protect the metal. It has a grease port for maintenance. It's constructed of sturdy materials. The wheel swivels effortlessly and spins freely (at least unmounted). There is some slight play in the raceway area. Not much, but it's there. However, it shouldn't impede the function at all. Depending on the shape or trim of your gate near the mounting site, you might need to be mindful of clearance for the wheel turn radius. The gate wheel comes with u bolts for mounting. This may or may not suit your needs, so plan ahead to prepare for the installation. The installation itself will be straightforward. For me, this gate wheel may exceed my current needs because it is so heavy duty. If it is, I'll still hold on to for future use because it is such a quality product.
