Alright, patriots and flag enthusiasts, let’s talk about flying the stars and stripes high with this Heavy Duty 20 FT Flag Pole. Now, I’ll admit, when I saw the price tag (around $100), I was expecting something a little… flimsy. You know, the kind of flagpole that bends in a gentle breeze and looks like it might topple over at any moment. Boy, was I wrong. The first clue that this wasn’t your average flagpole was the box itself. It had some serious heft to it. Not quite a two-person lift situation, but definitely on the heavy side. This immediately gave me a good feeling. It was like getting a present and realizing it weighs more than you expected – always a good sign. Upon opening the box, my suspicions were confirmed: these poles are indeed heavy duty. They’re made of thick aluminum, and they feel incredibly sturdy. They don’t feel like they’re going to buckle under pressure, which is exactly what you want in a flagpole that’s supposed to withstand the elements. Now, here’s the thing: I live on a farm in North Dakota. And if you know anything about North Dakota, you know that we have… let’s just say “spirited” winds. They can be brutal. So, while these poles look and feel sturdy now, the real test will be how they hold up against those legendary ND gales. I don’t know if they will stand up to ND winds on our farm though. Unfortunately, I can’t give you a full report on installation just yet. Currently, the ground is frozen solid, and there’s a massive snowdrift about eight feet deep right where I plan to put the flagpole. So, my patriotic project is on hold until spring. I’ll update in the spring with how easy this goes to put up. So, for now, I can only give you my initial impressions. The quality seems excellent for the price. It’s definitely not the flimsy setup I was expecting. The heavy-duty construction is a pleasant surprise. Four stars for now, with the potential for a fifth star (or a downgrade, depending on how it fares against the North Dakota wind) once I get it installed and put to the test. Stay tuned for the spring update!

I was looking for a pole that would support a 4x6 flag that I was given as a gift. It seems to support it just fine. As a precaution I left one section of the pole out to support the larger flag.

The cap for the top of the pole was stripped out where the screw goes. The rope for the flag was already frayed when we took it out of the box. It really sways with a breeze so not sure what will happen with more wind.

Aluminum flag pole with extra thick poles. This really seems to be a quality product given the price point. The box received had some good weight to it so I had a first clue that the poles would be thicker than average. This flag pole set comes with the following items in the box: - Flag Pole Sections - 6 over 20' total length - Rope - Top pulley assembly - Ground sleeve (for a non-permanent installation) - Eagle topper Pros: - Total length is 20' but you certainly could install it with fewer poles to shorten the length as needed. - Slip joints - for easy assembly/dis-assembly - Could be good for RV use on the road as it could be stored out of the way while traveling - Hardware works well and seems to be well constructed Cons: - No mention of wind - but it is easily disassembled and could be take down during storms and such. - Slip joints do not have any pins - could make it easier to remove by unwanted hands - The eagle topper seems cheap - very light weight plastic coated with gold color - this does not seem like it is going to hold up to long term UV exposure.
