This jack was a replacement and it lived up to expectations. The wheels are large with a lot of bearing surface on the ground. The Jack extended 24” from the center of the pivot to the ground (this was not fully extended). Installation was fairly easy and only a few tools required. Im anxious to put it to use

I'm comparing this to the 1500lb HF swinging trailer jack, which is what I had previously. They are in many ways identical, but there are some differences. Both made in China, obviously. The Goehner is a bit easier to engage/disengage the swinging mechanism when you want to move, but the mounting system is more difficult to get installed flush/parallel - the HF version has a bit of a shape to the mounting plate that makes this easier to line up. The Goehner definitely has better wheels - larger, sturdier and easier to roll - which mount via a sleeve that goes around the through-bolt. I the two wings of the wheel mounting 'arm' on mine were too far apart when I first brought this out of the box, so getting the wheel axle together took a bit of body english to bend the wings back into shape. The Goehner has a grease fitting at the top to keep the main lift/lower mechanism running smoothly, which may give it more longevity down the road. The crank handle on the Goehner is definitely inferior, with a pretty weak spring fitting to keep it attached that doesn't inspire confidence that it won't fall off during travel. You may want to remove this when not in use and store it in your truck or trailer rather than trust it will stay attached. Lastly, this is more than twice as expensive as the HF solution I had before, and definitely not twice as good - so, unless you are edging over the 1500lb tongue weight limit and really need a 2000lb-rated jack, not sure I would recommend this over the other. No complaints about build quality, just the design flaws noted above. Powder coating on the main piston was solid and the rest of it is galvanized or stainless. I'm not using it for a boat trailer so I'm not sure how it would stand up to occasional immersion. All in all, it works, but I'm not sure the price is justified when stacked against other available options.

Assembly was very easy. The jack is very easy to use. I use it on my boat trailer which has a 21 foot boat on a tandem axle trailer.

I want to like this heavy duty jack but once installed, wheels won’t swivel to steer. Can’t find any contact info for the company but it advertises ‘give us a call,? Would return it but there must be a simple solution? Any help?
