  • Roof deicing application: HEATIT JHSF1 was designed to prevent the ice dam formation not to melt the ice dams which were already formed. Please turn on the cable at the beginning of snowing. Can be used on flat roofs, metal roofs, asphalt roofs, rubber roofs, slate roofs, stone roofs, metal roofs, ceramic roofs, composite (tar and gravel) roofs, and so on. Rated 10W/ft at 32F (0C) for roof deicing. For roof deicing applications, you may need to buy clips and hangers separately.
  • Designed to maintain water temperature in the supply piping system, reducing or eliminating the delay in obtaining hot water at each fixture. You dont need to run showers or sinks for long periods of time to draw new hot water into the unit, which is a significant waste of water. Simply wrap the self-regulating heating cable around your hot water lines within the house to provide you with instant hot water. It is an energy-efficient and economical alternative to common re-circulation systems.
  • Testing the cable before the installation. Uncoil the cable, and plug in the heating cable. Normally you can feel the slight warmth on the heating cable in a few minutes. I tried this self regulating cable versus that standard heat cables and did not work for me on a roof application: the cord is more flat/rectangular in shape versus rounded cable and I could not straighten the cables enough to lay flush with the roof. The cord would also trip the breaker when I plugged it in and so it's drawing much more current compared to a regular cable with the same length. ... show more

I useed this for a re-pipe and it’s zigzagged over the standard pex B pipe insulation insulation, but under R19 bats… no connections in the attic never.. always use the pipe bending 90s metal… See pix . There is no way that I’m gonna have a problem with freezing pex in my atic… double ensure with these pipe heaters zigzagged under the R19 bats of insulation… ... show more
