Description

The Acumen RCK-K fire place remote control provides remote operation of a gas heating fireplace with the simple click of a button. The remote control transmitter operates on (3) 1.5V AAA batteries and functions using six distinct buttons (On-Off/Auto On-Off/Clock/Timer/Up/Down) system that transmits a signal to the battery powered receiver. The receiver operates on (4) AA batteries and will rest inside your fireplace, while the two lead wires will connect to the TH & TH/TP terminals on the millivolt valve. Enjoy the ambience of a cozy fire without sacrificing the comfort of your seat using this fireplace remote control from Acumen.

My millivolt gas fireplace only had a manual switch mounted in the wall. When the room gets nice and warm, who wants to get up to shut it off? Answer: no one. The receiver fit perfectly in the existing box. I had it installed and working in about 15 minutes. 4 stars on the remote. It's nice with the time, room temp and set temp on it. But the buttons for Auto and Manual are just weird. It's 2 buttons in a circle, with the top left being smaller for manual and bottom right for auto. 2 separate buttons would be better so you don't accidentally select auto instead of manual or vise versa. I don't want my fireplace coming on when I'm not home (though the cats wouldn't mind). ... show more

I used this to replace another one that the remote stopped working. Was very easy to replace. The only trouble I had was it said you could change the settings of the dip switches inside. When I did that the remote would not work. Followed the directions to reset the remote even removed the batteries and it would not work! So I set them back the way they were and it works fine. I was surprised by this item! It was easy to install and worked right the first time and ever since. I've had it a couple of months now. Like it says in the info, it will be w/in +-3 degrees of actual room temperature. I find mine is off around 1.5 degrees less. The remote is easy to program. It works laying around on a table about 15' from the fireplace. I definitely recommend it. ... show more

Replaced this on our gas fireplace. We lost the remote to the original. Wasn't plug and play, but was able to get it connected with basic electrical tools. Great product.

Works well. Did have one fail after about two years, but even with that far cheaper than competing products. Manufacturer is reachable for tec support without too much difficulty and friendly and effective. Worth noting I had a far more expensive control fail after three years.

I like to fix things but this was easy to install and works like a charm. Keep in mind as people have commented if u want it to go on off manually the on and off switch is separated into two buttons one is for auto on according to temp and the other side is manual on/ off. Easy to operate. Now if I can find a blower I’ll be all set. My blower just went , yesterday! ... show more

The Fireplace thermostat was just what I needed, having the fireplace turn on and off by temperature was great. It gave good savings on my electric bill. It was easy to in stall. The directions were easy to follow. The temp shutoff and turn on on the remote was off by three degrees, this made my rooms very warm then very cool...This was the only issue I had, but it was enough to make me look for another remote with a smaller on off range..Other than that this was a very good product... ... show more

took about 10 minutes to install only because I wanted to make sure I was putting the wires in the right place. Very easy and worked immediately. So much nicer having a remote control that works!!
