  • Such great value
These hearing amplifiers definitely deliver on their promise. I’ve worn hearing aids (the expensive ones!) most of my life and these are great back ups. It sure helps having these handy especially for the low price. Worthy note: These are amplifiers, so you might experience a whistling sound when putting them on. Make sure you’re wearing them with the silicone tip that fits you best. ... show more

  • Very Nice Tiny Sound Amplifiers
I wear hearing aids and I had heard about these types of sound amplifiers for a while, so when I had the opportunity to try these I jumped at the chance. I thought they would be good in a pinch if one of my hearing aids malfunctioned. The first thing I want to point out, to set expectations appropriately, is that these are sound amplifiers, not hearing aids. Hearing aids have circuitry to vary the amplification according to the degree a patient can hear specific frequencies. This leads to fairly natural sound. In my case, my hearing aids amplify the speech range well so I can hear and understand voices pretty clearly. In addition, full hearing aids have sophisticated noise suppression and focusing capability that allows one to hear sounds, say, ahead of you while suppressing others. This capability works well in a busy restaurant or bar. In addition, some hearing aids act as Bluetooth headphones to pump sound from a phone or other source directly into the aid. These devices are not that. So what do these sound amplification devices do? Well, they seem to amplify all frequencies at the same time. So everything gets louder at the same time. For people with mild or moderate hearing loss across a range of frequencies, this may be adequate. There are multiple volume levels on these, controlled with a wheel control, and they get fairly loud. For example, without my hearing aids, I can't hear the tapping on keys on my keyboard. With these in, however, the tapping comes through loud and clear. Instrumental music sounds pretty good to me with these. They seem to transmit the sound as they come through speakers fairly accurately, so I can enjoy the music. I don't hear any feedback or buzzing from them unless I put my hand near my ears. Feedback can be controlled by rotating the earpiece to position the microphone hole differently. The seal in my ears is good and you get some noise suppression as well. There are a total of 3 domes for each earpiece in 3 different sizes so that most people can find a good fit. I find they fit in the ear well and have not fallen out in my tests. It takes some experimentation to find the one that works best for you. They're about as comfortable in the ear as good Bluetooth earphones. The size of these is very small and they fit in the ear much better and much more unobtrusively than other sets of hearing amplifiers I have tested. These are not rechargeable and take size 10 hearing aid batteries. Operation is simple. Put the battery in and put a dome on and flip the on/off switch. How comfortable they are to wear for long periods of time varies by the user, of course. A nice case is included along with 4 batteries, 6 domes, a wax removal tool, and a cleaning brush. Decent instructions are included as well. So, are these for you? Well, if you have severe hearing loss and particularly if the amount of loss varies by frequency, perhaps not since all the frequencies are amplified with these. But if you find yourself turning up the TV and the too-loud sound is then ok for you (but not for your partner), these may help you a lot and be worth a try. Just be cognizant of what these are and don't expect them to perform like a full hearing aid does. The feedback issue seems to vary by user so you may or may not be able to find a fit that works for you. I appreciate the manufacturer's effort to produce a solid hearing product that works well and is exceptionally small, although rechargeability would be a big plus. I believe this product has the potential to help a wide range of people with hearing issues at a quite reasonable cost. ... show more

  • Did not work!
I got these for my husband. He has trouble hearing, probably he has some hearing loss, but is not ready for a very expensive hearing aid. We thought we’d give this amplifiers a try. We understand they are amplifiers not a hearing aid. They did not work! They are meant for either ear, not specifically right or left. Mostly they were screeching. Screeching as soon as it was put in the ear. Whistling. Feedback. If you put your hand up to adjust it, it was worse. I could hear it resounding, while sitting next to him. He tried to readjust the level of sound. Still there was no way to quiet it. A few times he heard me speaking loudly, and then it went back to screeching. He tried a different ear tip, but it didn’t help. The few times he heard the amplification it was not regular, and not something he’d wear in his ear all the time and rely on. Additionally, it was hard to put in the battery. It’s very very small. He had a hard time with it in his fingers, and also had to wear his reading glasses to see it. Ultimately we threw it out because it was worthless. If you buy on Prime you could try, (I see no reason to even try, but there are some good reviews.) but otherwise I wouldn’t bother with it. * I write reviews to let you know how this product was for me, and to aid you in your decision to buy or not buy. ... show more
