I ordered this for one reason... to find out if a hearing aid would correct my problem. Well, it did. So now I need a lot better hearing aid. I got what I paid for... I got a $40 hearing aid. I use this when I have to be in a meeting, and everyone is talking and the person next to me leans over to say something and I can't hear a word she is saying. It does help but could be a bit smaller in my ear.

The media could not be loaded. Updated: I recently went out of town and wore this while out and about walking around and even during a hike. I didn't have the volume turned up too loud but I was able to hear all of nature. I was just on an open walking trail and while the sun was out, I was able to hear all of the birds that were flying around, chirping and could even hear the waves crashing that were some miles away. The hiking trail we were on did overlook the ocean and while the people I was with could barely hear the waves crashing on the rocks below, I was able to hear them as if I was right there on the beach. I did notice that from either walking up the hill and this ear piece was pointing in that direction and then back the other way it wasn't, I was still able to hear the waves. I did notice the waves were heard more loudly when my earpiece was in that direction than when it wasn't but was amazed about being able to hear something that people younger than me wasn't able to. The size of this amplifier is similar to an earbud and is roughly about the same size. What is nice about this amplifier is that it looks so much like an earbud, that no one really knows I'm wearing a hearing amplifier. I can wear this in either ear, unlike some amplifiers that I've seen and even purchased. I personally find this really comfortable to wear, no matter if I'm out and about or even exercising. Even while exercising, this amplifier stays inside of my ear and I don't have to worry about it coming out or even comes loose. The best part about this is amplifier is the fact that it works. I've been able to wear this while jogging and can actually hear people who are behind me. While it sounds like they're right behind, when I look, they're usually some ways away. This has immensely has helped me with hearing without constantly saying what or asking people to repeat things. ... show more

Although I was aware that my hearing wasn't what it used to be, I really didn't think an over the counter hearing aid could possibly be helpful. Seriously, hearing aids can cost hundred or even thousands of dollars! How much could some inexpensive earbud from Amazon really help? My husband talked me in to trying it out. I am so thrilled that I listened to him. From the first moment I had it in, I was shocked to be hearing so much of what I had been missing! Music sounded fuller, voices sounded crisper! I have enjoyed not constantly saying What? Huh? But...and there is a but...It is not very comfortable in my ear. Although they provide a selection of buds so that it will fit most people, my ear channel is quite narrow and nothing I tried made it comfortable. I wear it when I need to hear better, but I do wish it fit me better because wearing it was almost life-changing. ... show more

I can somewhat hear the tv above the room noise,but as a kid we would hear so to speak the ocean in a sea shell,and thats what listening with this device is like!
