I've had prescription hearing aids that cost $5000.00 plus batteries. I don't think any will match those but they are getting close. These are right up there with my prescription ones. The savings in cost plus batteries (about $20.00 a week). If these we're out back then I would saved a lot of money. I'm impressed with the clarity of these and the peak gain of 41dB. The working time is also very impressive, thirty hours on a two hour charge, and another four recharges on the case. Some people don't like over the ear but when you drop one, it's easier to find. When you compare the price and quality of these, I would try these first before you invest thousands. One other thing, it takes one to two months before you get used to them so please be patient. I prefer over the ear hearing amplifiers. They are less likely to fall off then those in the ear, in my opinion. These even have a added piece to help secure them in your ears. Besides a choice of different domes, these have two different length tubes that allow you to change for what tube length fits your ear best. The Tinnitus masking mode is a plus. It assists with reducing surrounding sounds that affect Tinnitus. The rocker switch is all you need to use to change the modes and to adjust the volume. The rocker switch is not flimsy like other aids that I have tried. These have an average gain of 33 + or - 3 db. Also it has a peak gain of 38 +or - 3 db. So the average gain can be 36 to 30 and the peak gain 41 to 35db. Overall this is a very nice , comfortable pair of over the ear hearing amplifiers. Well worth consideration if you have Tinnitus or like over the ear aids. No blue tooth and simple to use. ... show more
