My French/Old English Bulldog mix has obssessively licked his feet his whole life. I'm an RVT and I tried the prescription food trials with Ultamino, Hypoallergenic, novel protein, and Derm Complete. I tried Apoquel, CADI and OTC antihistamines. Over a 7yr period. I used wipes and medicated shampoos and foams regularly for his self-created yeast infections. ALL of these things usually work for our patients, so we were stumped. He still licked obsessively no matter what I did. Even Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach, which helped my German Shepherd, didn't help. One day while searching for a new food, I remembered I fed this to my Great Dane years ago and gave it a try. It is really expensive compared to the discounts I get on prescription food, but I was at my wits end after 7 years of trying everything. Shortly after buying the 2nd bag (one 15lb bag lasts him 2 months), one day I was watching TV and suddenly realized I hadn't seen him lick his feet in a while! So, we started paying attention all day, and I'll be damned! HE'S STOPPED LICKING HIS FEET! No more bi-monthly medicated baths and weekly ear cleanings! We can do it just monthly now and he's good to go. I'm so happy for him. Itchiness is no fun. Don't forget... food trials take 6-8 weeks to take full effect. And they cannot have ANYTHING else by mouth except water! Or food trial is void. Good Luck! ... show more

My dogs ate way too picky! And my little Yorkie has a hard time with food this might be too big but if I get then tiny ones she can't grab it as easy since she is 12 yrs old and has no front top teeth now. But my chi mix doesn't seem to want to eat it much either but will if she has no choice. I keep trying different kinds of dog food but they prefer unhealthy crap dog food uugh. ... show more

I’ve been looking for a natural dog food that hasn’t so much pea protein and all other fillers. I have officially found the one. The size of the kibble is perfect as we all know most dogs actually inhale their food. The kibble isn’t so large that they’re coughing and choking on it. The smell of the dog food does not have a bad odor whatsoever. I like that it has a Ziploc type bags so you can reseal. However, I put mine in a storage container with a lid. The first time I open the dog food both dogs, especially the German Shepherd had his nose in there. I have not had to add any type of treats or canned food to this food in order for them to eat it. I free feed they eat what they want. They have maintained a healthy weight and their stools are firm. Their coats are shiny. happy dogs, happy mama! Great dog food! I have been buying Health Extension dry dog food for years because our dogs are worth it! Buying a quality dog food helps you save money in the long run. I buy both the lamb and the chicken flavor dry food. The chicken flavor lists ORGANIC DEBONED CHICKEN as FIRST ingredient! The lamb lists lamb as first ingredient. There is NO sugar, no ethoxyquin, no wheat or soy, no BHA, no BHT, no artificial preservatives or colors! Our dogs - and my daughters dog love this food. We want to have happy and healthy dogs for a long time, so this is the quality food we feed them! Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for ... show more
