  • This Herman Miller Aeron headrest solved most of my neck pains
I’ve got this Herman Miller Aeron headrest last month and Amazon sent me an email asking me about my feedback. Here’s my 2 cents. I don't usually buy my stuff from Amazon since my husband does it all the time, but I actually made this purchase personally. I had to scan every and each review here before buying to make sure I'm getting what's advertised, and that I did. Yes the price is not expensive but I don't like to waste time and money. Before listing what I like about the herman miller Aeron headrest, have noticed some comments about the knobs not being tight enough and how the headrest moves with the head’s weight. Also, some other comment mentioned the lack of tools to get it up and running, and to be frank I got a bit worried. The advertised features are what I was looking for so I wasn't ready to let go. I tracked down the seller and asked them about the nature of the reviews. They assured me that there was a defect in one of the batches and it's solved on the spot and they got rid of the defected items. They promised to fully reimburse me if I faced any of those problems along with a 2 year warranty. So I decided to pull the trigger on this one. I received the headrest two days later and the first thing I did after hooking it to my Aeron chair is to test those problems. Setting it up didn’t take more than two minutes since it’s a spring a connection so no tools were needed anyway. As for the headrest failing under head’s pressure, this problem was not present. It seems that it was actually fixed. I even tried to force my head backwards on the headrest to test if it’s going to move against its knobs, but it stayed in place like it’s supposed to. As for the some of the features I liked: 1) Very first thing I noticed is the cute hanger on the back of the headrest. I always hated having my purse on the desk or on the floor 2) Since I’m not a very tall woman, having the option to change the headrest’s height is a nice touch 3) The actual headrest is extremely comfortable. It feels good resting my head on 4) As a person with osteoarthritis, being able to adjust the headrest in different ways helps. Anyone with similar conditions knows how unbearable it is to keep your neck straight 5) I don’t usually break my stuff so I can’t comment on the durability. Although, it doesn’t seem that it will break anytime soon. My only comment is I wish they had more color options. To be fair, this Herman Miller headrest for aeron chairs is a very good addition to an excellent chair. It is extremely useful for people with back and neck problems, especially those with medical conditions. According to the seller, the mentioned problems in the previous comments were all solved and I personally tested the headrest to make sure they were. My husband is thinking about buying an Aeron chair as well, so I will order another headrest for him soon. ... show more

  • Good headrest
Edit: It appears the headrest I originally bought is not the same one that is currently listed. This style, the one with metal bars the headrest slides on, is not the style I reviewed and does not match the Aeron aesthetically in any way. At the time of writing, the closest equivalent to what I originally purchased is the Fortaleza. The one I purchased almost 4 years ago is still going strong and I love it! I need to buy a black one to match the new Gaming Aeron I purchased and that is the one I'll be getting again! ---------------- After having the headrest for almost 2 months, I find myself utilizing it more than I initially thought. As comfortable as my Aeron is, I find myself watching Netflix at my computer more than on my TV and couch. It's nice to be able to lean back and relax. I have noticed the initial height that I set the headrest to was a bit too high, but with the one button adjustment, I can set it to the proper height without needing to get up. Nice feature. Pros - Fabric almost perfectly matches that of the Aeron's fabric. I have a traditional black "Classic" Aeron, which I believe is called charcoal, and I can't distinguish the difference in color. - Installation was relatively easy - Headrest is comfortable due to the floating fabric. There is an air gap between it and the plastic backing allowing the fabric to absorb your head a bit. - It feels relatively solid and not likely to break with age. See cons. Cons - No tools or instructions came with my headrest. Thankfully being a hobbyist mechanic, it was intuitive enough to figure out and had a spare 10mm or 3/8" Allen wrench already. - The fabric appears to be of an inferior quality to the kind that is in the Aeron. I looks like it may sag with heavy or abusive use. - While general construction is solid, the height adjustment has a bit too much play for my liking. It can wobble a bit. I don't feel it will break, but being used to the quality of the Aeron, it feels wrong. - Price. I paid about $120 at the time. It's currently $100 at the time of this updated review. Based on all factors, this should sell for about $70-$80. Summary Overall, it's a good headrest and rounds out the Aeron fairly nicely. The plastic backing is out of place when next to the rest of the chair, but I feel it fits the chair nicer than the other "premium" headrest on Amazon. I'd definitely buy it again, but only if it was less than $100. Original Review Just received this headrest 48 hours ago. Installation was easy and matches very well with the Aeron chair. As the product is new, I'll leave a more detailed review in a couple of weeks but so far I'm overly happy with it, even at the $120 price point. ... show more

  • Looks good, works well, install instructions would have helped
Matches my classic Aeron "C" perfectly and adjusts to my 6 foot tall body for excellent head support. When I opened the package, somehow the essential screw fell onto the floor unnoticed. For days I thought, well this product is poor, it keeps falling off the chair. Then I found the screw on the floor and after a moment realized this was part of the headrest, and now all is well. A simple instruction sheet showing how the headrest is screwed on would have helped. ... show more

  • Perfect Product
I bought my refurbished Aeron chair from this seller last year so I knew they are trustworthy. As for the headrest itself, I wasn’t aware that they have their own headrests which was a pleasant surprise. No matter how good your chair is, spending 10+ hours a day sitting and working from your home office will leave you with all kinds of neck pains. So I decided to get me a headrest hoping that I can recline and just close my eyes for 5 minutes or even support my neck while working. Not knowing Headlogix existed, I looked up the other brands such as Atlas and Engineered Now and actually got an Atlas. It looked fancy but felt stiff since it doesn’t go back much and that kinda defeats the whole purpose of reclining. What really made me return the Atlas headrest is how uncomfortable it gets while wearing a headset and that a big problem because I have online meetings all day. As for Engineered Now, I didn’t try it but looked up some of the reviews online and wasn’t really impressed so I disregarded it immediately and thought about searching on Amazon for a change. When I finally found the Headlogix I was very excited but some of the reviews made a bit skeptical. However, I decided to give it a shot since one of the reviewers mentioned something about a defect in the old batches and it was solved long time ago. I received my package fast and didn’t waste time to hook it up. Installing the headrest is quick and easy and didn’t take more than a minute. The headrest is extremely comfortable and actually go back further in comparison to Atlas. Wearing a headset while supporting your neck doesn’t feel uncomfortable and that what made me fall in love with this headrest. I recommended the headrest to a friend of mine and they asked me if it affects Herman Miller’s warranty because their chair is brand new. After contacting them it appears that it DOESN’T affect the warranty because it doesn’t need drilling or anything. It only latches on your chair via springs. I guess the seller should make that clear to save people some time searching for that information. Albeit, it’s good to know that it’s safe to use. ... show more

  • Wore out after 1 yr - almost broke my neck
My headrest wore out after 1 year. The mechanism that keeps it in place wore out and now It no longer works. Super disappointed as my return window is obviously closed. Don't buy this product. It popped off my chair yesterday while I was leaning back and very relaxed and my head bent backwards and I'm in a lot of pain now. It was very scary. ... show more

  • Really wanted to like it...but....
Really wanted to like the headrest. Felt very well made, installed easily enough...but could not get the headrest to stay in the tilt position desired, no matter how hard the adjustment dials were tightened. Once it was in the desired position, any light touch to the headrest sent it sloping all the way down, to where your head would hit the top rail if you rested against it. The only other issue I found was that the sprint clamp that attaches to the chair is not quite tight enough to keep the headrest straight horizontally. It was always just slightly off, tilted to the left or right. If the attachment piece could be tightened rather than relying on a spring, I think this would not be a problem. ... show more

  • I really wanted to like this, but alas...
The good news about this headrest: it looks good and fits on the chair well. Also, the mesh is color matched to the Aeron Classic, so it doesn't stand out as non-OEM. The bad news: the design is flawed and even under max tension, components slip and can get bumped off. The headrest doesn't feel solid compared to the performance of the chair that its attached to. For half the price of the other well-designed competitor, it doesn't perform even half as well. Your experience may be different, but I ended up returning mine and purchasing another that I absolutely love now. Another highlight: the customer service was super prompt and comprehensive—I had zero hiccups from purchase to return. I just wish the product was as good as their service. The touch-up spray they sell is absolutely fantastic, go get it if you're refurbishing your Aeron Classic chair! ... show more

  • Best headrest… speaks comfort & style
My partner and I are faithful to anything with a Herman Miller label. We believe that a costly chair is worth it not just for the luxurious experience, but for our comfort as well. As a business owner, I spend at least 12 hours every day at the office and that left me no time to take care of my health or at least walk around to relieve my back from the constant stress. I tried many other headrests brands to whom I will not refer to and were not to my liking. Thus, I had to give all those headrests to my employees. My assistant was using this headrest after winning it off some kind of a competition online and the first thing I noticed about it is the hook for the purse. I don’t know how to describe it but there is a hook attached to the back of the headrest to hold your purse. I am sure that the other headrests did not have this feature and that was interesting. The headrest is comfortable enough for my head and easy to set up. Most importantly it looks chic for my Aeron and the hook for my LV is quite practical. For this price I certainly did not expect this beautiful headrest. P.S, I sent you this morning about bulk buying some of the headrests for my company. Please get back to me ASAP. ... show more
