I tried another Low-er cost helmet brand, it was honestly pretty decent for the price. This helmet is over double that ask, and honestly its that much better, and has better graphics to boot. -The slayer design is amazing seeing it in person. -The shield fits the design, even though i would have preferred a black. Pinlock is a huge bonus -The vents are super easy to operate whole on your brain. -The visor has a few nicely stiff detents. -Audio pockets are included, but i feel they might place the speakers too far from your ears. but i haven't tested that yet -Higher quality pads than the price reflects -Decent Chin curtain -I didn't like that I had to install the "aerofoil" on the back of the helmet, and I didnt like its attachment method, there are holes into the shell, and there is no seal, so its possible in its location it could see water intrusion in a heavy rain. -I hate the inner flip down sunshield inside the helmet. If I didn't obtain this helmet for my son to be able to ride with me, I would either completely remove that flip down or throw the entire helmet in the trash. We need to rid the world of these flip down shields inside helmets, there is a reason helmets cannot obtain a snell rating if they have those stupid shields in them. -Im not sure why i struggled so hard re-installing the cheek pads, it didn't seem to want to install in the same position it was removed,(not very intuitive) and one flap always wanted to sit on the opposite side of the tuck channel. I had to do some research on who hax even is, as well as any other info about this helmet. HAXs' website contains less info about their own helmets than they include on Amazon, odd. They say the shell is a "thermoplastic" but not what it actually is. TP can polycarbonate, ABS, or a combo of those... Hax mentions this on their site: "The soul of Hax is built on these three core ideas: Fashion, Safety, and Functionality." Notice how they mention safety, after fashion..... I'm not sure how excited i am about the TP shell, id prefer a composite shell rather than TP, maybe that's why it comes second. Honestly I think the helmet will perform just fine, but for an honest review, there is things i need to bring to your attention. Im kinda jealous I gave this to my kid, even though i run a Ruroc. I really do like the graphics. @ the ask, its fair for what you get as well as the liners feeling much more premium than the cost says they should be. ... show more

I got the red helmet. Undoubtably the most outstanding feature of this helmet is its looks. Everyone that has seen it has commented on cool it looks. I usually wear size x-large so I ordered this helmet in size XL, the helmet fits me perfectly. I am used to my modular helmet so putting this one on requires a little more effort, but once I get my head completely into it is very comfortable. It has good hypoallergenic padding, and the ratchet chin lock is easy to operate. I actually like this type of chin lock. The built in sun visor is so useful and operates smoothly. The goldish colored visor looks so good. It locks in place well and flips up and down smoothly and has a tab that you can easily grab. The helmet is vented and provides ample airflow. The tail fin is really cool looking and fits securely. The tail fin was very simple to install. There are 3 barbed pins that you push into the corresponding holes. I have additional peace of mind knowing that this helmet is DOT and ECE certified. Incredibly cool helmet at an incredible price. ... show more

This is a very cool looking helmet. I love the colorful design. It also comes with a helmet backpack. There is a shiny (in my case bright red since I got a red helmet) that can be optionally attached to the back via 3 snap-in plugs. It was a wee bit of a challenge to get it on but I like it. Some people might think it is a bit over the top but it is something that will get noticed and being noticed while you are out riding is a good thing. I usually wear a size large and I got a size large. It fits a bit snug but I think that it will loosen up a bit over time. It has vents on the top and by your chin which can be open or closed. It has an internal sun-visor that can easily be used or not by moving a small switch on the left side of the helmet. It has a very aerodynamic shape that should cuts through the wind and helps reduce wind noise. The manufacturer claims it is hyper-allergenic, sweat absorbent, and odor controlled. More importantly, it meets ECE and DOT safety standards. The way the helmet strap snaps is different than other helmets that I have had. Instead of running the strap through a couple of metal rings and then snapping it in place, this helmet using a plastic ratcheting mechanism. Great looking helmet that meets DOT requirements. All I can say is that this guy turns heads. Has a removable rear fine and speaker pocket for a aftermarket headset. The tinted visor is also very nice. Comes with a nice carrying bag to protect it. Helmet is a little on the heavier side for my like but is a nice helmet. Wind noise is comfortable to my Agv helmet.
