All the complaints are true. It is slippery, if you put pressure on the sides it will move, and the plastic thing on the bottom broke. Even with all that, I still gave it four stars because it works great for me. I put nonskid tape on and that cured the slipperiness and I avoid putting side pressure on it. I would’ve given it five stars but the way it’s designed makes it difficult to cam tightly. I’ve used it all season and spent hours at a time on it and I haven’t had any problems with it since I learned how to use it. ... show more

    • Poor craftsmanship but good size and weight.
Poor craftsmanship. Had to order three to finally get one that would work and that could be assembled. The first one received could not adjust angle of platform. The angle/leveling bolt grommet would spin with bolt when trying to adjust. Second one received the vertical post tabs were not welded on vertical (at a bad angle) and were too close to fit post between. 3rd one received finally worked and was able to assemble and adjust angle of platform correctly. I bought an expensive platform and this one so I could saddle hunt with my kids. After using it for two weeks, I returned the expensive one and bought another hawk. Everything about this platform is great. Anyone who says it doesn't hug the tree, isn't locking it in properly. Once it is hand tightened, climb on to it. Stand with one for on the top vertical bar, lift the platform with the other foot and push down on the vertical bar. Lower the platform and its fastened to the tree and won't budge. I'm not a fan of the other hawk products but the platform is awesome. If you do want to replace the straps, look up XOP straps. They are better but there is no need to replace these if used properly. Add grip tape to the stand, it makes it even better. ... show more

For the price this platform was perfect for what I wanted. My first yr saddle hunting and loved this platform, made hunting a lot more comfortable.

    • Not great quality
The bolt the adjusts the upright post angle. Is supposed to tread in and out. But it just spins in the treaded housing. I’m assuming the treaded housing was supposed to be tack welded in place. So when you tight or loosen the bolt it actually moves in or out, not just spins.
