As the headline states, you have to be able to use your imagination. The hunter that can "just make things work" and that can carry this, even into the south texas brush country- Is a bad dude. You can get in the smallest of trees that have all sorts of whack branches and angles. Get concealed, or not. Trim your lane & make the shot. Not a stand I use everywhere, but it is my go too for some country. I find myself wanting it along more often than not. Cons: Awkward to carry, a tad bulky. Strap and ratch can suck. Heavy duty construction & a very nice thick padded seat. Rock solid when attached to a tree, also makes an excellent shooting rest. The only drawback is the Heavy duty construction makes transportation awkward. It doesn't fit well in a pack so I strap it on the outside. Be sure it doesn't get against your weapon of choice.     • Not very practical.
Pros: 1. Easy to set up *Set it against your tree of choice, wrap the ratchet strap around the tree, hook it in and ratchet it tight. Easy peasy 2. Fairly comfortable *The cushion is thick, and comfy to sit on. The only down side is adjusting the seat height and angle (see below) 3. Very sturdy, even for a larger guy *I'm around 6' 280 and this thing didn't move around at all once it's strapped down. Cons: 1. Hard to get the angle and the height of the seat correct *Seems like no matter what tree I attach this seat to, the seat is either angled to low or too high. You're either sliding off or it's digging into your legs. Moving it one notch up or down moves the seat quite a bit. *In my personal experience it takes too much time and energy to fully adjust this to make it so you can sit all day in comfort. 2. Heavy to carry in your pack. *It doesn't seem like it, but this adds quite a bit of weight. I served in the Army and always enjoyed rucking, and as they say about packing your ruck... ounces turn into pounds quickly. 3. Takes a up almost all the space in your pack. *If you use a normal sized pack for hunting, this thing is going to demand pretty much all the space. Not a lot of room for your other gear. 4. Awkward to carry * The way this is made, theres always something poking you in the back, or shifting around in your pack. ... show more

Dave, i purchase 2 of these seat for archery ground stands. When you swiveled right and left on the seat the shaft where the locking adj pin went made a loud clanging noise to/wit a deer would definitely hear. I had to cut a fired shotgun shell in half and shove cut pieces into the shaft which did solved that problem. In addition had to put piece of wood under the bottom teeth to properly level the seat, the problem, it needs more adjustment. Also one of the cranks to the strap broke when trying to secure it to the tree. Bought a new heavy duty strap to fix that issue. Again a good design but it well need a little MacGyvering that's why I'm giving it a 3 star. ... show more

    • Extremely well built seat
I bought this seat to hunt the side of a steep hill. I used to sit on the ground but after a few hours my back would start hurting and I would have to quit so I got this seat last week hoping it would allow me to stay out all day. I took this seat out and had it strapped to a tree in literally 20 seconds. The cushion is very comfortable And the seat turns left and right without a sound. The seat angle adjusts up and down easily in just a few seconds. Unfortunately since this seat has no back rest my back still started hurting after a few hours and I still had to quit. The way this seat is set up, it sits a few inches away from the tree and leaning against the tree felt awkward to me. So if you're ok with sitting on a stool with no back rest, I'd highly recommend it. Even though it didn't work out for me, I'm still giving it 5 stars because everything about this seat is top quality. I can't say enough about how well built this seat is. You rarely see products built this well anymore and that's why I'm keeping it. It will last me forever and I'm sure it will get plenty of use from other people. This is my first Hawk product but I am going to check out what else they make. ... show more

    • Good seat, but doesn't swivel.
This is the third Hawk product I've purchased. All have been built surprisingly well. The issue I found with the Hawk Any Angle Tree Seat is that it doesn't swivel. It doesn't make it a bad seat, but the fact that it is advertised as be able to swivel 360 degrees when it clearly does not is dissapointing. Also the picture on amazon, hawk's website, the box it comes in and the owners manual all show a stainless nut assembly below the seat. I think this may have allowed 360 degree swiveling, but when I contacted Hawk about this they stated that that is an image of the original prototype seat and not what actually comes in the box. I then asked about the fact that it doesn't swivel 360 degrees and they told me that it does if you don't tighten it all the way down. I was very surprised that was how they defended that it swivels. Maybe I'm the odd one, but to me saying something can swivel by not threading it on all the way is not what anyone thinks of when you say a seat swivels. I still plan on keeping the seat because even without the swiveling seat the angle adjustment and solid build will make it very handy. Just know that if you tighten the seat down per the manual it will stay in a fixed position and not swivel. ... show more

I liked the adjustability and the seat comfort. I liked the quietness of the seat and the ability to swivel silently. Because of the physics of the seat if it is not perfectly level when you rotate. The left and right side rise up and down depending upon which direction you swivel. With the many adustments on the seat angle I don’t think it will be too much of a problem. The ratchet strap could be longer. The max tree diameter is around 22-24 “. The strap has a gathered end which prevents it from slipping through the ratchet which is a great plus.
