This is an overall decent mug. I don't drink coffee, but our family is a big fan of hot cocoa, so I tested the mug with that. It holds up well to the heat and it's a great size for the cocoa (and probably coffee as well). If you have any sensory issues, you may find the feel of the bottom of the mug to be weird. The top part is glazed, like you would expect most mugs to be, but the bottom is unglazed and feels a good bit different from the top. It might feel different if you're not used to this type of mug.
