Through no fault of Amazon or the manufacturer, it took me two months to receive these plates. Why? My neighbor packed them with her when she was moving and took them to Canada! She came back to the US, stopped in New Hampshire and then Florida before coming back to NYC. When she called me, she said "I have some boxes of yours that got packed up with my things. They've been banged around a little so if anything broke I will reimburse you." Imagine my surprise when she came over and gave me my boxes and in one was these plates, fully intact, not one broken a thousand miles worth of road later! The strength and sturdiness of the plates are truly complimented by their lovely color. I got the plates in a gradient blue and they look... cosmic. Very beautiful! I haven't had them very long but I am also really impressed with how scratch resistant they are and how sturdy they feel as well. My kids are a pretty tough bunch and these plates don't have any chips yet. For that alone, aside from the beautiful color, they deserve the five stars, lol. ... show more

First, I like to say that this is a handmade set. Exquisitatively beautiful. They blend well with all the other dishes that I've been collecting. Let's get to the functionality of them. I have a few health issues that make eating a little difficult. One with my trimmers. I love that this set has a little lip that I can push my silverware up against and helps me lift my food. I also feel that it does have some weight to it so when I'm holding it I don't feel like it's going to fall out of my hands. Remember dishwasher and Microwave safe. Very easy to clean and they are durable. I ordered these to go with my holiday dinner setting. They blend well and are just beautiful pieces. And this price. You can't beat it. These plates are beautiful and feel like they are restaurant quality. They really add a nice touch at the table, and appear to be durable. After one trip through the dishwasher, and one family dinner, I was gathering dishes to rinse in the sink. One of the plates slipped and fell about 3-4 inches to the stove top. It chipped and left a nasty spot as shown in the photo. I lowered the score by one point due to the fact that of my 6 plate set that I have owned for 2+ years, I have dropped several of them to the hardwood floor and they did not chip or even crack. It is quite possible that this chipped plate was a 'perfect storm' example where the chip struck at the exact worst angle. Also, they are very nice looking. So I rate it a 4 rather than lower. ... show more

I just received the plates. They look exactly as pictured, arrived well packaged, and no damage at all. My only issue is the plates themselves don’t say anything on the bottom. Usually dishes say what they’re made of, where they’re made, if they’re dishwasher or microwave safe, etc. But there is nothing on the bottom other than a couple of spots where the glaze cured unevenly. Ceramic ware is regulated, especially if it is meant to be used with food. It makes me wonder if these items are food safe or not. Right now I will be giving a 4 star as they are beautiful to look at, but I will be buying a lead test from an hardware store and updating the results at a later time. ... show more
