  • we love this game!
I bought this to so we could all play together, my 4 year old loves this game, but would always bump the board and the pieces get out of place, and sometimes ruin the game! so i put velcro circles on the backs of the tiles and the board, so the pieces stay in place even when the board gets bumped! We all love playing the game 4yrs to adult, its fun and different everytime, and great for families with big age gaps, everyone can enjoy playing all together! would definitely recommend for families! ... show more

  • A Classic Returns … Again
I was very happy to see this childhood favorite back in print. Some time ago, I purchased a used copy of the old 70’s version, but it was missing some track cards. A modernized version was released sometime in the late 90s or early 2000s. Before I had a chance to grab one, it was out of print again, and it was many years until this moment when it was reissued yet again. So I jumped on it this time. I’m very pleased. Except for more contemporary styling and a slight re-angling of the track, it’s the same old classic I grew up with. There’s a great upgrade to the pawns, which now look like whimsical little robots, each with its own pose, rather than generic Sorry-style pieces. They also color-coded the Lose cards to match the pawns, which removes the confusion that can result if a served card isn’t removed from the game table— with the exception of the yellow player’s pawn which is pink for some odd reason. The only other gripe I have, which is minor, is there is no tray for the track cards to keep them from scattering all over during play, the way the old version used to have. But this is not at all a deal breaker. For those unfamiliar with this old-school board game, it might seem simplistic in comparison to the Euro games that have become so popular. But it is quite different from Sorry, Monopoly, Parchisi, etc. in that the spaces are not pre-determined. They change for every game as players land on them and place track cards that tell you to move ahead or back any given number of spaces, go to Score, Roll Again or even Exchange Cards with another space. The result is some absolutely ridiculous bouncing about the board and hilariously unpredictable scenarios as players race to be the first to get 12 points. No, it’s not deep like Catan, and luck still plays a big part, but there’s still some strategy elements that make things intriguing. And sometimes it’s nice to just play a simple, relaxing (and, in this case, silly) game that can be set up in a few minutes and learned quickly by first timers. Kids especially will have a giggle fit with Bonkers. So I recommend not missing out on this classic again. Get your copy while you can, with or without kids. ... show more

  • Super fun!
This game is pretty simple and so much fun with the family. I would suggest getting the little Velcro dots to go with the game to keep all the pieces in place of you've got smaller kids playing. Things got a little jumbled around once in a while with tiny arms reaching across the board. But it's so fun. ... show more

  • An Old Favorite
My family spent many happy hours playing this game when my children were at home. After they grew up and moved out., the game disappeared, probably in one of our moves. I was delighted to find that the game is still made and still fun for our next generation.
