I was looking for a cheap, sustainable and frustration free way for frothing milk - and this is it. Pros: Easy and fast frothing Easy to clean. Makes nice and creamy froth (though really depends on the initial temperature of the milk - use only milk from the fridge) Short little work out for the arms - yes I'm that lazy this counts as a workout. Cons: Need a different cup for heating the froth (hence 4 stars instead of 5) You can only make one serving froth at a time. If you follow the correct order of taking the parts out it is really straight forward and easy to use and all that information is written on the small manual that it comes with. ... show more

It's a nice way to foam up some milk for your iced drinks, not just coffee, and the foam is very fine. However, it doesn't hold a lot, so I typically add unfoamed milk as well. I haven't had any messes with mine; make sure when you separate the two halves that you leave the mesh connected to the top cup. Clean up is quickly done with a good rinse and light wash. Just be gentle with the mesh; I don't think it would stand up to a firm scrubbing. The only reason I gave it four stars is the limited capacity, which means if you're making more than one drink you have to fill and shake again. Otherwise this is a great device. ... show more

The latte shaker works as instructed giving me more milk foam than a aerolatte. Using it in conjunction with an aeropressed coffee, I pair milk foam that is airy and light that I can quickly make at the office. Cleaning is a quick rinse. I have to dock a star for it's one unfortunate problem of needing a separate set of rules for warm milk foam since it's not recommended to use warm milk in the shaker (steam). Aeropressing into a cup of heated foam is messy. It's possible to go coffee, foam, microwave if you like your latte extra hot. ... show more

I bought this item because it was favorably written up on Huffington Post; the author of the article touted this to be pretty much the only milk-foamer one would ever need for espresso drinks. It's certainly as easy to use as it was described in the article, but that's about as much praise as I can offer. It will foam your milk, but it's not microwave-safe, so you need to heat the milk before giving it the old shake-a-shake, and it's kind of messy to use. I also thought it was really over-priced for what it is, essentially two plastic cups that screw together at the middle of the device, with a mesh screen between them to aerate the milk. It isn't horrible - I guess if you absolutely must have a foamy hot beverage and you either don't have a machine with a steam-arm or can't get to a place where you can buy your frothy drink, this isn't the worst substitute you'll find. Update: Does not work for milk alternatives.. I've tried both Soy and Almond :( So far I've used Silk Soymilk (I'm allergic to diary) and it did not froth well, unlike the Hario video. I will try another brand and update my review. You have to shake vigorously, so it's a bit more difficult than expected. Might not be worth the effort. ... show more

This thing is amazing if you're not ready to commit to a fancy coffee maker. It makes foam really quickly and is perfect if you're making 1-2 cups of coffee. The only issue is that it can overflow if you fill up the milk over the line in one half of the glass.

Well it really doesn't work with Almond Milk. Just makes a mess and I get a better foam with my hand held. The company was gracious though in a refund.
