  • @$60, it's hard to beat the value.
TLDR: At a $60 price point, I think this is an excellent entry-level carry-on bag. If you have more room in your budget, I would probably drop a little more on something with more options. I dropped it from 5 stars because they have a 3-bag deal for $119 (it would be cheaper to buy the three, then sell off the other two at $30 a piece.) Narrative: I travel a lot for work (6-8 flights a month, 10-14 days in a hotel monthly). Thus I have a lot of time to stare at and think about luggage. Basically, all luggage is just a box you throw your things in, so the question is how expensive does that box need to be to accomplish that task. For someone like myself, I have dropped a lot of money on my luggage, because I essentially live out of it, and can't afford a bag failure At $60, this TILYMOL carry-on bag accomplishes the bare minimum, while looking more expensive. If you're ballin on a budget, this is the bag to get. It accomplishes all the basic luggage tasks (holding stuff while looking expensive) while being a lot cheaper. They have even pre-empted the biggest failure point (wheels snapping off) by having the wheels come with a quick release (I would pull them off the bag and shove them in your personal item if you end up having to check or gate-check your bag.) There is even a bundle with backup wheels if you think you are going to be rough on your bag. Size: This bag fits the exact maximum length of most carry on bag holders. It has the added bonus of having detachable wheels (if you find yourself on an extremely small plane). The 22' luggage is a particular sweet spot, and thus most 'carry-on' bags are attempting to find a way to maximize performance in this area. Style: As is standard for bags of this design, you end up with a bi-fold zipper, and lose some space on the right side of the bag due to the internally mounted telescoping handle. More expensive bags also have this feature since it maximizes performance for the size restriction, so I don't knock the bag for this feature. The face that the black bag is two ones does make it look more expensive. Also, the fact that the luggage feet have hooks to hold things is a thoughtful feature. Compared to a Travelpro Maxlite $127: At twice the price, you get a bag that "feels" more durable, has the same TSA lock, and more importantly, is expandable. The travelpro doesn't have quick-release wheels, but the functionality of expandability means you could probably fit 20-30% more stuff in the same package (then compress it down if you are forced to). As a counterfactual, at $120 you can buy all three of the TILYMOL bags (the larger 24 and 28 ARE expandable), and carry half your closet to wherever you are going. Conclusion: At $60, it's hard to beat the value. If you have twice the budget, either buy a nicer bag, or just grab the three bag set. ... show more

  • Great but small carry on
I travel back and forth between Washington state and Kansas several times a year and will be adding Chicago to my rotation. I need a new carry on, as one of my current carry on's wheels occasionally doesn't want to spin, causing me to have to change hands/sides or even give it a push with my foot to get it moving. Very inconvenient in a crowded airport. Just before I bought a new one, I saw this TILYMOL Carry On Luggage and decided to give it a try. This is a hard shell case, but the shell has some flexibility. The texture will help protect against, or at least camouflage, minor scuffs and scratches, I think. The downside of this hard shell, which I hadn't even thought of until now, is that there are no exterior pockets or compartments—going to take some getting used to. There are handles on both the long and short edges, which will help get the carry on quickly into and out of the overhead bin. The handles are sturdy, with a silicone underside that is quite pleasant to hold. The telescoping handle does not have the same silicone coating. The release button works easily, and the handle extends smoothly and has two locking positions. The wheels are very simple to install by pushing a button and popping them into place. That same button allows easy removal of the wheels. Now, this is a very small carry on, so I foresee no problems fitting any airline's overhead bin requirements, but if it ever were a problem, I could simply pop off the wheels and tuck them in my purse until it was time to roll away when my flight landed. Speaking of rolling, the spinner wheels roll very smoothly. Much better than my current, and just as well as the Samsonite carry on I was eyeing. The zippers, outside and inside, zip smoothly, and the pulls seem sturdy. The lining is a much thicker material than my current carry on has, which gives me hope it'll last a long time without tearing. The interior space is evenly divided between the two sides, with the zipper running right down the middle of the case. The "bottom" half has the straps to buckle the clothing in, while the "lid" half is a deep zippered compartment with a smaller mesh zippered flap. I'm so used to packing exactly the same way every time that I'll need to experiment a little. I never check a bag, so I don't intend to use the TSA lock. At the time I ordered, the price was just under $60, which seems like a fair price for a good quality, if small, carry on bag. I have just made my last flight until late spring, so I won't be able to review this carry on under actual airport conditions for several months, but there would have to be some catastrophic failure to cause my rating to lower from 5 stars. ... show more

  • Beautiful but small!
This is a really well made suitcase! I love the fact that it can lock and has the added separation on the inside.... It is very sleek and probably only good for a weekend trip at best :) My concern is it doesn't expand to accommodate more like my old suitcase so it only can carry really what is within the dimensions allowed..... that being said though it is really a great suitcase.... the wheels work in all directions, the pull up handle to roll it goes in and out easily and stays upright.... the suitcase itself is nice and light and easy to maneuver..... Overall it is a really nice bag! ... show more
