Harder & Steenbeck airbrushes feature universally interchangeable nozzle sets giving customers flexible conversion options. My table was a mess of various airbrush components as I used to go through one of those cheaper airbrushes every 2 weeks as they would just keep getting clogged or partially clogged in spite of a very rigid cleaning process. I'd be swapping this part and that part between three cheap airbrushes, hoping I'd get one to work properly. After every color I swash the whole thing under water, wipe the bowl, fill with clean water and blow it all out, then fill with solution and blow it all out, ...every time! The video for this airbrush says "just use the brush for now and when you need to clean it, then come back and watch a video on how to do it". I have been using this thing for over a month now and with just the same routine as before, many different mediums, It STILL works as good as the first day.     • Start HERE, not with a master kit.
Beats the heck outta the master airbrushes I got in a kit. Got myself a good tank and compressor and I'm having a much better time. Honestly just start with one of these and don't bother with a master kit... I had so many struggles with it and just thought airbrushing sucks for a long time. This thing made me love doing it. Cleanup is so much easier, just everything about the workflow is better. ... show more

    • Don't waste your time on lesser quality airbrushes. I learned my lesson the hard way.
I started airbrushing using a TimberTech kit off of Amazon. I loved it. I thought it worked great and was able to paint some cool stuff. I saw the videos talking about the more expensive brushes and thought to myself, "They can't be that much better." WRONG! There is not a subtle difference in the quality of the spray, there is a massive difference. Then you have preset spray patterns so no more guessing where to adjust the needle. If you're on the fence about upgrading the airbrush in your setup and you're looking at this one, I highly recommend it. ... show more

What a beautiful airbrush. I am new to this form of art and I have a heavy hand to be sure. This airbrush has all of the ability of a standard airbrush but with the added benefit of giving a series of settings to help give you a feel for how the airbrush should be positioned to achieve proper base coats, priming, details and more. The action on this brush, I understand, was set up to prevent pulling back the trigger before engaging the air (pressing down into the brush body). Unfortunately, the action leaves a snag or a hitch if you haven't pressed down hard enough and the spring makes it tough to get past. Hand cramps abound with this one. Still a good brush. I've relegated it to priming and base coating miniatures and larger models. You can use the lighter weight Evolution spring and smaller needles with this as well. If you can afford it and you're stuck between deciding to get an Evolution, and Infinity, or this one, just get the Evolution or Infinity. ... show more

    • Great beginner airbrush
Started off with a cheap alternative and struggled. Decided to give this one a go after watching an online tutorial and it’s a huge improvement. The trigger stop is great for beginners. It prevents you from common beginner pitfalls like spraying too much paint for a given layer type. And it keeps the nozzle from clogging by not letting you dispense paint without air being pushed through. I understand this is a downside to more experienced painters, but it’s been very helpful for this beginner. It’s easy to disassemble and clean. And while it’s quite a bit more than the typical beginner airbrush, I found it very much worth the extra cost in terms of limiting my frustration — more time painting, less time troubleshooting. ... show more

An amazing piece of Hardware! Easy to use right out of the box, plenty of educational material on YouTube by Harder and Steenbeck covering all aspects of this airbrush! Well worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone!!

    • Best airbrush for beginners.
I wish I had known about this airbrush when I started painting, went through several different brands and struggled so much to do quality work. The H&S Ulta gives you a rotating color to help with trigger control which is always new painters biggest hurdle. The airbrush is also customizable, so as your skill progresses you can change components easily to get better and better results. If you are starting out or have been struggling with other airbrushes, I highly recommend you give this one a try. ... show more
