I’ve never had any luck with the aluminum tilting type patio umbrellas. The wind grabs them and breaks them every year. The wooden frame umbrellas are heavy and rugged and last at least several years. In fact, I’ve got one that’s nearly 10 years old.

I purchased two of these umbrellas about a year ago. I chose these because they looked nice in the picture, matched the chaise lounges we have, and weren’t too expensive. I purchased some nice covers to shield from the sun and elements when not in use, and stored them away for the winter. However, I put them out last week, and both poles snapped in half during a spring wind gust. These poles are made of PARTICLE BOARD. Yes, the cheap stuff like IKEA furniture. It splits and cracks if it gets wet, and will snap in the wind after one season. For the price, I didn’t expect these to last 5-7 years, but I at least expected to last more than one season. Do not purchase these if you expect any longevity, these are basically just single-year disposable umbrellas. The company refused to sell or provide replacement poles, and offered me only an 5% discount to buy new ones. No thank you! ... show more

Not wood pole. I was well past the return window when I installed this umbrella. I’m only here looking at this same umbrella to double check the canopy diameter before I buy its replacement. Color is nice but other than that I have nothing positive to say about this umbrella

The umbrella is beautiful and well made. On arrival I thought the color was off and was going to return it but once I placed it on patio it is true to color and the size is perfect and it looks great. So glad I kept it. If you thinking about it get it you won't be disappointed.
