I don't know what kind of magic this thing possesses, but it has really worked for my dog, 75 lb lab mix. For a variety of reasons (combination of aging behavior, health issues, excitable personality, etc.) my dog started waking up frequently throughout the night. Before the happy hoodie, he would pace restlessly in the bedroom or whine until I woke up and we'd go downstairs and lay on the couch. One night I decided to see if this would help - he woke up restless, I gently slipped it on him, and within seconds he was back on the bed and snoozing away comfortably until it was time to get up. I use it during the daytime here and there when he is overly worked up or restless for one reason or another and it has worked consistently for him. Make sure to keep their ears flat against their head underneath the hoodie - takes a second or two to get the fit right but it makes a difference. It worked so well I bought a second one so I could have an upstairs one and a downstairs one. Size large was a good fit. Worth every penny in my opinion!

The Happy Hoodie calming band works much better than I initially expected for helping pets stay calmer during stressful situations. The soft, stretchy fabric gently wraps around the ears and head, which seems to reduce sensitivity to loud sounds like thunder, fireworks, or noisy grooming equipment. When used during grooming sessions, it helped my pet stay noticeably more relaxed and less reactive to the sound of clippers and dryers. The material is soft and comfortable without feeling restrictive, and it stays in place well once positioned correctly. It’s lightweight and easy to slip on and off, and the larger size fits securely without squeezing too tightly. For pets that get anxious during grooming or loud events, it can make the experience much less stressful. One helpful tip is to place the band over the ears gradually and adjust it so it sits snugly but comfortably around the head. I like the design of this as it’s stretchy and will stay on. My dog seems comfortable enough in it and didn’t try to remove it, but he doesn’t mind wearing hats and being dressed up, so your dog may be different. I bought it because he has a sore on top of his head that keeps opening back up whenever he plays with another dog. Due to the shape and size of his head, it doesn’t cover the sore, so I’m going to return it. He’s a small Shih Tzu, so he has a very short neck and a flat little head, which contributed to the poor fit on him. It may fit your dog or cat just fine. The material is a heavy knit and seems to be decent quality. It was easy to put on him and easy to remove. I think it’s a decent value for the money if it suits your particular needs.

These are so worth it if you are a groomer of cats or dogs. They help calm the pet immensely while being dried and can help with scared kitties who would rather be hiding in a hole than where they are. You can pull the happy hoodie over their eyes and ears to make them feel safer during the groom. I bought two different sizes XS and SM since I groom only cats and the size difference will matter when trying to protect their ears from loud sounds. They are easily washed as well. I just throw them in with the regular laundry and will dry on a low setting.

I liked this idea. The Happy hoodie wouldn't stay on his head even though I ordered the recommended size so it didn't work for us. It was to easy for him to shake or rub off his head.

My dog Hella is generally anxious, especially around loud noises. Putting the happy hoodie on calms her right down. First pic I posted is just for looks, the second pic is how peaceful she looks when the noises are blocked by this little snood! If I put this on her head during a heavy fireworks session - she completely mellows out. What would normally cause her to pace in bark she will barely even acknowledge with the happy hoodie on. If the fireworks are really booming she may tilt her head or let out a bark or two, but nowhere near the level of fear she has without it on. This product works better than any med or supplement I have tried before, including Trazadone + Gabapentin. Hella recently had TPLO surgery and around month two of recovery was getting more agitated (barking at me and charging at her cat siblings) even though this wasn’t a noise related stressor, put the hoodie on her absolutely made a difference. I think it’s like the pressure on her ears or cancelling out the ambient noise around her soothes her. I couldn’t find her original hoodie for about a week, and I had to order another one because it’s that helpful. I found the first one but I’m not mad about having a backup (now in pink)! Hella is 50 pounds and wears a large happy hoodie.
