This product sets up easily but does not produce a very strong current. Chickens are not affected at all and will easily cross through. Feathers may be insulating them.

UPDATE!!!!! The company contacted me and said their return policy is one year and sent me a replacement unit and paid return label. They explained that they had a batch of bad parts in some units that would result in them not working. The new one is working fine and their service was very good. this device worked for maybe a month, just long enough to get past the return policy, beware. ... show more

Nice little fence charger. I use it to go around my chicken run. Easy setup. Comes with instructions. Been using for a while now. Been in the Texas sun and has been rained on several times. No issues. Still looks and works like new.

Ran wire around the fence perimeter to keep goats from attacking the fence. So far seems to work fine, I have not seen the billy challenge it, so don't know if he can hear the pulse.

    • Hope it is working can't tell not putting out much volts at all
The tester that I bought that reads 2000 volts and up, would not light up with this energizer was installed unless I put the electrodes directly on the terminals. with the ground rod in and the fence up the tester does not indicate it is working although it might be less than 2000 volts on the line. The tester reads volts not joules. I can't even tell if this works and Im not going to touch it to see. ... show more
