The fact is that if you are doing it correctly your black tank particularly needs NO chemicals AT ALL. I rarely use chemicals, we are full time RV and have been RVing for over 45 years. First, use a bidet. I am not sure why Americans are so far behind on this (I am a proud native born American). Get rid of toilet paper. Second, Make sure you both poo AND pee in your RV. Don't do one without the other. People think they shou,d not poo, this Chemical offset is WRONG and one (poo) interacts with the other (pee). I learned this from my RV tech training. Our tank never smells, hot or cold weather. Texas or Alaska. Ever. We use this chemical every 3rd dump. The key is....USE ENOUGH WATER. For our 40 gallon tanks a minimum of 2 gallons since we use a bidet. If you do NOT use a bidet put in a minimum of 4 gallons for a 40 gallon tank. Remember, your tank should never smell with or without chemicals. If it does, it is a problem with your method or procedures. ... show more

We have been using this product since 2016 when we bought our RV. Its great. We didn't know how great until one trip we forgot to put it in. Within one day the smell started. We cleaned out the tanks with Clorox and water and then started over. No smell ever again. This stuff is the best and we will continue to use it for as long as we have an RV. ... show more

    • Best by far, don't waste your money on anything else
Have lived in an RV with 3 adults with full hooks ups. Our septic gets warm in South Florida and can get really stinky really fast during the summer especially. This is by far the only product that has controlled the odor, however I also add 2 -4x the recommendations during the hotter times of the year. It's a very loose powder, and very fine dust partials so I like to be very cautious not to get it everywhere, including on my face. I've tried several different products online and and none are as good as this, including all the stuff at the rv specialty stores is not as good, but better than what is at Walmart for a quick fix, since I have only found happy camper online. We have purchased this product for several years and hands down is the best product we have found to curb the black tank odors in the RV. We spent the winter in our RV and never once had an issue with odor when using this product. Mix as directed, dump in the tank every time you empty and you will not be disappointed. ... show more

    • Works pretty well during most of the year
I live in an RV and this works well through Olympic Peninsula Fall, Winter and Spring. Hot temperatures in the Summer here can make it work less. I just use a little more and that seems to hold it.

We started using Happy Camper upon recommendations of other RV owners. Our previous issues have been unable to have our tank sensors read completely empty. Since using this product it's worked out perfectly. (So far). Albeit, we've only used it for about six months or so. Time will tell. Included with this, we use Fabuloso for odar control.     • Amazing product
At first I was a little unsure if any product would ever help with black tank smell since we’ve tried so many products and none has worked as good as this it does what it’s meant to do I would say it’s worth the price.
