I purchased this bag to replace my old gym bag that looked similar but was falling apart. I was drawn to it because it had the same amount of compartments as my old bag. I originally ordered the 17" and it was a little too small to fit all my gym necessities, so I purchased the 19". It is a little bit bigger and could probably go for the 18" if they sold one, but it doesn't seem to come in that size. Regardless, I love this bag. It is nice that it has a water bottle compartment, my old bag didn't have that. Lots of compartments for keys, sunglasses, odds and ends and there is even a cord for a phone charger or other electronic. I only have used this for the gym, so not sure for traveling or water resistance or durability. It seems pretty good so far, and I am happy with it. Probably a good work commute bag, or traveling bag. For reference, I use a 24oz water bottle at the gym and the water bottle compartment fits that well and so far no issues for both the 17" and 19". ... show more

I got this for travel but have been using it every day. I got the large and it is big enough to hold my kindle and everything else I drag along while traveling. The separate pockets are great to keep everything organized. Our tour guide said several people had their wallets/phones stolen from their backpacks and to wear them on the front.
