Upfront disclosure: I received this item through the Amazon Vine program for review. For a while now I have been wanting a handheld Anemometer to test fans and blower motors. This is a perfect meter for me. Reasonably compact and easy to use. Adjustment of settings proved very easy and it is reasonably sensitive. Now I can actually test the systems around the house and make sure things are to spec. I am sure there are more advanced, precise, or higher quality ones out there, but for my DIY applications this thing is perfect!

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this anemometer in hopes of using it to check the accuracy of the wind gauge on my weather station. Unfortunately the screen is completely unreadable outside and to my eyes just appears to be black. I shot video of how the screen appears in sunlight, attached, and it actually is brighter in the video than it appears to my eyes. I don't know if I just got a bad unit or if all these anemometers look this way in sunlight. Needless to say I'm very disappointed in the fact that I can't use this anemometer for its intended purpose since the screen is unreadable. Using the anemometer indoors the screen appears to be bright and easy to read. Testing the unit using a fan to substitute for wind I find the display updates very quickly and is sensitive to very slight breezes. Unfortunately I don't need the meter to test fans or machinery so I will only be able to use the meter except for using it in deep shade or after dark. Its a shame because if I could only read the display outside I think it would have been exactly what I needed. So the meter works and if other units don't have the screen issue I encountered then it should be a great unit but I have no way of knowing. If you only need an anemometer for indoor purposes this should also be a good solution. But if your looking for an anemometer for outdoor uses I would suggest looking elsewhere.

This Handheld Anemometer seems to be very sensitive and accurate. I am a drone pilot, and it can be helpful to know the wind conditions where I am flying. This fits the bill beautifully. The array of features and selection of measurement units does everything I need, and more. And, FWIW, it does not seem to matter which side of the unit faces the wind (contrary to the instructions) it reads well both ways. There are a couple of things that could be better. The color display looks great indoors, but I found it could be very hard to read outdoors due to glare on the screen, and an issue with the vertical viewing angle. I finally discovered that if I held the unit well over my eye level, I could read it well. But with the fan itself right at my eye level, the display would almost black out. This was hard to sort out when I used it outdoors the first time. I also wish that it came with a case. It is such a sensitive instrument that I don’t want to throw it in my kit bag without protection. It deserves a nice case, perhaps one that could be clipped to one’s belt for easy access. Those two issues aside, I really like this instrument. If it came with a case I would give it 5-stars.

I tried this out last night, and it works really well! I love different gadgets; you never know when you'll need one, and this will come in handy for me. It's small enough to fit in a front or back jeans pocket and was easy to learn and set up. I'm very happy with it, and I would recommend it as well.

Absolutely love this digital anemometer. Easy to use. Has the batteries included. Great instruction manual. This product can set for mph or k/ph and other settings. The digital is very clear and easy to read. A fantastic gift idea for that weather enthusiast on your gift list or anyone that needs this product for flying remote control aircraft. Definitely would purchase again.
