This is a good saw as long as you can take care of it. The box it came in doubles as a storage with a couple of strips of cardboard (not included, recycled cardboard) and some glue as holders for the blade, with is double-edged and can be damaged loose in a tool box or drawer. This is a woodworking saw and good for straight or curved cuts in soft or hardwood. PULLING the saw for the cut is more accurate than pushing the blade... The only problem was the rivets on both sides of the carved wooden handle were raised a bit so it was either tape the handle or knock them down to the right elevation (sunk into the handle) and for this you could use an anvil or heavy piece of steel and hammer on the protruding rivets until they sink to the proper depth. Rivets require either a squeezer or impact to be set right.

Having a small Japanese style hand saw is a no brainer (not tiny, just smaller than the large almost two handed ones you see). I keep it handy by my workbench for all the typical uses - especially getting those flush cuts thanks to the flexible blade and just so blade thickness. The handle is just the right size, aiding the cutting ability. It is sharp and highly functional. Nice design nicely done.

Works cutting small beginning elm trees down. 1 1/2- 2” “trunk.” Also works on trimming older boxwood hedges. Easy to use, handle is a good size for a person in their 80’s, so far sharpness has been good. I cleaned with an oiled rag to remove debris in the teeth and to keep saw protected from rust.
