  • A good 6" hand pull saw
This is a good 6" hand pull saw that will make easy work of small DIYer wood projects. The saw has 2 different types of teeth design - one is for hard wood and the other softwood - which are identified by an embossed marking on one side of the blade(see pic) Note: you can also visually discern by looking at the teeth and determine the 2x v. 3x teeth structure. The cutting capability is good as the teeth are very sharp made with SK5 steel - SK stands for "Steel Kougu" meaning "Steel Tool". The lower number indicates less impurities and offers good rust protection - but you'll still need to care for the saw. The handle is adequate in size and very smooth making it comfortable in your hand. The handle has no finish and IMO I'd prefer it to be a little larger. One important note is the saw has a life-time warranty. Overall, a very good type specific saw that cuts well, should last a lifetime and is being sold at a fair price. ... show more

  • Nice sharp saw, but thicker than I prefer
This is a nice saw, very good quality, but not flexible enough for me. The saw requires more pressure to flatten against a surface, so you're more likely to scar the surface when flush cutting a dowel. The thinner kerf Japanese saws are very flexible and do a cleaner job than this saw. Of course, maybe I'm just used to the other, thinner saws and someone else may prefer a stiffer blade. It is a well built, sharp saw and I'll use it for other purposes. ... show more

  • Sharp!
I have a flush cut saw like this that's cuts on the push, this one cuts on the pull. I thought it would be handy to have one of each. This is very sharp and cuts very well. I like that one side of the blade is for soft wood and the other is for hard wood, and I like that each side is labeled so you can use the correct side at a glance without counting teeth. It's got a "hangy hole" at the tip to hang it up when not in use. The handle was a little loose on the rivets, as many products are, but it's not enough to be considered defective. In fact, my other flush cut saw is the same, it doesn't affect the performance. This is a good tool. ... show more

  • Works great
I got the opportunity to do some flush cutting with it at work and it was great. I have had a problem with another one I tried because it's too tight. The problem is that that one gets pinched and stuck before you get through what you are cutting. This one however cut easily without getting stuck. It also has 2 different tooth counts for cutting either hard or soft woods. It's great, I'm happy I got it in the tool box. ... show more

  • Handy hand saw for craft
It's easy to use. As advertised, the kerf is thin, making it great for working on smaller projects. The handle fits my medium-sized hand well. Due to its short length, it's better for smaller projects, but it can still be used for larger projects if needed. The price is reasonable. I tried bending it like my Japanese Ryoba saw, but it's made of harder metal and requires more pressure. However, it does allow for flush cuts. ... show more

  • A nifty little Japanese Flush Cut saw
The Frocopo Japanese Flush Cut saw is a neat little saw. With a 6" double sided, 11 and 17 tooth per inch blade, it can handle cutting softwoods as well as hardwoods. I was curious about the saw due to its size. I have a full size Japanese pull saw, but it's a little cumbersome to use sometimes. This little 12 inch saw with its 6 inch blade fits into tight spots, and cuts beautifully. Don't be mislead into thinking it's a toy. This saw will surprise you. I've tested it crosscutting pine and oak, and the ease of use, cutting speed, accuracy, and quality of cut is excellent. At its price this saw is a bargain. ... show more

  • A small saw, for small projects
Sometimes you need to cut a small piece of wood, and you don't need electric tools, or even a large hand saw. This is great for small projects. Even, cutting a up a long dowel, into smaller pieces. The handle is an ok size. One side of the saw is says hard wood, and the other soft wood. They ship this saw in a thin cardboard box, and saw teeth have protective plastic on them. This is only shipping material, a simple storage box to protect the teeth, would be a nice add on. ... show more

  • Effective little hand saw
I was super skeptical about this thing until I broke it out and used it to trim a few finish panels off of a wood shed. It cut through 1x6 pressure treated pine in about 5 seconds. This thing rocks - will see how it holds up.
