I'd see this type fan being used on some camping videos on Youtube and thought it would be a good addition to my prepper supplies. I got it yesterday and and tried it on my Mr. Heat Buddy heater. Yes, it works! I did a 'feel' test to see how far away from the heater I felt heat with and without the fan. Without it, I could feel just the radiant heat at about 3 1/2 feet, with the fan you could feel warmer than ambient air at over 6 feet. ... show more

We know these have been around for a while and actually have one for our Mountain Home Wood Stove. It works nicely and so does this one... the difference is this one comes with the additional bracket support to use with Our Mr. Buddy Heater. So cool... been actually wanting one that specifically fit onto the Mr. B. products. Fits perfectly, appears to be made of quality materials, and works like a charm... The only wink to the consumer should be that these fans work well enough... especially in smaller settings but they do not have the capability to fan hard enough to distribute the heat in mass. it's definitely better than no fan at all, and it's amazing how it's powered with the sustainability and practicality of just going off the heat itself. Very cool... very appreciated... and very practical, especially in those camping and smaller area situations. No batteries or power cords or other dependent items needed. That's a huge plus and a boon to the personal heater resolution of warm air distribution. Just remember, it is not like having a strong flowing (electric powered?) fan that fills up a room... it is finite in its power, reach and functionality. You might need a couple of them if you want to use it on other heating sources like your fireplace or wood stove set up. For the Mr. Buddy usage and in your tent or smaller space, it's awesome! - Recommended for sure and the value is completely appreciated as these were hard to score at a reasonable $$ during COVID. So glad we could pick up this fine working, well-made, self-propelling generated by heat, fan now. Love it! ... show more

    • cute gadget, not much heat but entertaining
I've had a wood stove for >15 years, and always wanted one of these heat-driven fans. They used to cost (and sometimes still do) >$100, and that was a little steep. This one is excellent price (I got it as my first vine product to review), probably works as well as any, all black with no shiny bits like some of the fancy ones but heat sink on top is a nice maple leaf sort of pattern. My stove has soapstone sides & top and I use it only for a few hours with modest fires, so the top took a while to heat up to about 160F before operation, never gets >200F. Metal stove used hard probably drives it better- maybe a lot better. The fan spins almost (not entirely) silently, not particularly fast with my stove. It will blow out a match at 8-10", FWIW. As is widely known, these things don't push much air, so really aren't going to change the heat distribution in your room much if at all. I can't say if the really expensive ones are noticeably more powerful. I haven't tried attaching it to a portable heater, just top of wood stove. Well packed and instructions well written. Very prompt shipping & normal delivery. So don't buy it expecting your heating to improve measureably, but a fun gadget, great present for the hard-to-buy-for gadget fans with a wood stove. ... show more

    • SURPRISED HOW WELL IT SPINS
I have seen these little fans for years...this is my first. Simply set it on the lip of your woodstove and the little fan takes to spinning. Not a jet blast of air, in my case, but a gentle breeze that pushes some of that warm air out into my living space. I have mine down low on the hearth area of the woodstove.....Bella the cat seems to favor that as the place to be. Nice. ... show more
