Was fantastic the first 4 days of use and then would not hold it's zero. " Could not get it back zeroed in." This was what I wanted while it worked just didn't last long at all. I mounted the replacement this morning. First thing I noticed was the same issue with the scope mount. It slips on the dovetail grooves. I cured that with some clear 2 sided tape. Last time it slipped back and sliced off the stop pin on my gun and the stop pin on the mount would not work because of the placement of the pin, " to far forward on the mount ". I fired off 25 pellets this morning and all seems well so far. Am using the scope on a " Beeman Teton .22 cal. Gas Ram ". Will update in 1 week from today, 7-19-18. 7/29/18 Things are working great! Am still having an issue with the mount slipping, But, Hammer's is working with me on that at no cost to me! The scope is holding its zero. Would recommend this scope to anyone with a springer air gun! And it has a life time warranty. ... show more

    • Better than I thought it was
This is an update to my first review. I gave it only 3 stars then. Can’t remember why it was so low. Cause I had my maurader out yesterday and was very pleased with the scope. Shot nothing, just bird watching through the scope. I could hear birds singing all around us but couldn’t see any of them. So I went and got my gun to use my scope to find the birds in the trees. I adjusted the scope for several distances from 15 yards to beyond 100 yards. I was able to see many variety of birds and at many different distances without any problem. This morning I stumbled upon my first review and felt I should update it to better reflect how I feel about this scope today. I think its a good scope for the money spent on it. Oh yeah, I have shot pest on my yard with it and it is holding zero spot on. 2 thumbs up and 5 stars from me this go around ... show more

    • Good bang for your buck.
Overall, a good scope for the money. Would definitely recommend, with one setback. First, the scope is of a good quality. I would say a step or two above the factory scopes that come with pellet guns from factory. Glass is clear, and the reticle is nice. The magnification ring is easy to use, so is the parallax and eye focus rings. the capped hand adjustable turrets are nice. They are not that fine or nice, as they were a but mushy when adjusting. For the money, the turrets are good and solid. The scope holds zero, which is what matters as I use this for rodent and pest control. The scope came in with some parts on it loose, but just hand tightening those parts did the trick. The biggest issue I have with the scope is the mount. Maybe it was not intended for a break barrel pellet gun. I don't know. But the scope mount would slip on the dovetail grooves (when shooting) no matter how tight I mount it. My solution to that would be buy a scope mount, which is what I will do to resolve that issue. ... show more

Purchased this for a .177 break barrel riffle and will buy another for a 2nd riffle. This scope is so much better ones that come with the riffle.

    • Scope is not to bad. The mount is poop..
I bought 2 of these. I smoked both mounts in 10 shots. The stop pin is aluminum and it sloppy. No match for a steel barrel. I have older break barrels. The new model's have RRR systems etc... i had to ditch the one piece mount and use a single low mount ring as a stop and then run a set of high rings to mount and hold the scope. Its lasted 40 shots so far. I did reach to the distributors..no answer completely ghosted. This most likely mean trouble later on when the product fails. All in all the scope is ok..but you will need a QUALITY set of rings to use it on a Dovetail. Blk, sport match. Anything below $60 for mounts will be a 100% waste of time and money. Just my real life experiences. My older Benjamin prowler had its way with the hammer 1 piece mount. 10 shots. Update scope has failed in 90 days. No longer able to go down far enough to zero. I have again tried to reach out to the distributor for warranty replacement or repair. 3 separate email's. Keep in mind if you buy this. The warranty they claim is a out right lie. These guys could have done well. ■■ Update. The manufacturer did reach out to me ...finally 🙌 I'll need to ship the scope back to the distributors on California and include a $10 money order for return shipping of replacement. All in all is not bad for the money. VORTEX had better customer service. Even on the budget stuff. ... show more

    • Good, but it fell apart
This scope is rated for airguns. I had it mounted on a Gamo Swarm Magnum Pro. For the first few weeks it was flawless. A couple of days ago I took a shot, and three of the glass elements in the back of the scope came tumbling out. It was toast. This surprised me, as the scope - as I mentioned - is rated for airguns. Put this Hammers 4-12X40AO Air Gun Rifle Scope on my Gamo Wildcat Whisper to replace the totally useless scope that came with it. Really impressed with the quality of this scope. Another one of those, " best bang for the buck" scopes! this 4-12x40AO is just what my Winchester 1400cs needed. It's being capable of 100yard+ shots makes this scope downright handy for an older shooter. Or one that's steadfast about shot placement at longer ranges. Great field of view with this one's 40mm objective. clear as crystal too. When I combined it with the Instapark 5-bolt mount, I go the perfect set up for my 1400cs and it's lil mule recoil. This scope has taken all the abuse that Winchester can dish up. So it should do perfectly on your air rifle. These scopes really are designed to take all the abuse a break barrel air rifle can dish up! Combined with the great field of view on this 40mm objective and you have a really nice scope you'll enjoy for years to come. ... show more
