Bought these to install in our camper that never came with them originally. They seem like high enough quality for our 10 year old camper. I was disappointed that these did not come with instructions. It took some trial and error to get these mounted properly. They only have maybe an inch of travel, so proper mounting is critical to keep from bending hinges and still having the door open as much as possible. Even then, our doors will not stay open at 90 degrees. I only put one strut on each or our doors. Two would feel too stiff on our lightweight doors. They didn't come with hardware either, and required a trip to the local hardware store for proper sized screws. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. I wish they had more travel so I could get the doors to stay open further in some applications, but they are serving their intended function. 4 stars for lack of installation instructions ... show more

We choose this metal version to replace broken plastic struts in our NuCamp teardrop camper. We used the screws from the broken plastic struts. The plastic struts used 3 screws each for the bracket while these metal ones used 2. Fortunately the outer holes line up so no drilling was required. Update: we could have drilled 2 new holes 1/4" toward the cabinet framing for better alignment, but the brackets works fine without doing so. ... show more

READ Description fine print! These are just the struts there are no correct screws included or available separately. Using cheap screws from the hardware store will get them mounted but it looks like garbage and adds to the time and cost of installation. I would have gladly paid more to have less disappointment with the finished installation. I bought four sets from Lassens RV and they included the correct size, color, and nice-looking RV-style screws specifically for these struts. Only consider purchasing these if you are replacing them and have original screws. ... show more
